Frugality is a virtue that most people would be envious of.

If you want it, have the money and it's not all of your money - buy it.

I used to worry about spending money, but now i consider myself affluent which came from saving, saving, saving and never buying anything. I realized that my life was lived saving away and missing out on the fun stuff, so i decided that i should live a little from time to time.

I'm extremely anxious about having any in the first place. I don't find society to be responsible with money at all, let alone individuals. We all want what we want & if it's remotely affordable I say go for it.

That said we just talked about how you might want a car more. I don't see any practical purpose for guns, they don't stop bullets or nukes after all. If you want to improve your trigger discipline that's one thing but I don't really see that as a function of hardware. 22s are just as fun as Howitzers if your grouping is any good.

I'll pick up a gun if there's a legitimate reason to but I don't see that as cause for owning any.

If your instinct tells you to buy it you will. Nothing anyone here says can stop you. That is the animal part of all us humans.

Personally I don't think you need a gun. But you know your situation better than me. If you feel someone is going to attack you then by all means, buy a gun.

But I thought you already had several guns. What is the point of one more?

Anxiety comes from fear of ending up homeless

And if it's cash, anxiety from pickpockets

Guns are expensive

Some gun stores sell guns on consignment

Less $$$

Used gun shop

In the state where I live, you have to keep the gun and ammo separately locked. In your residence or trunk of your car

I don’t make enough monthly to buy a car and I can only buy one under 2,000 so it’ll be pile of junk. Social security is against saving.

Guns are all different.
Image
The one I’ve wanted forever
Shoots 45acp. Was USA military sidearm from ww1 until desert storm.
Full steel, hammer fired single stack.

The other handguns I own are glocks

Polymer frame, Striker fired, double stack 9mm pistols.
They operate differently.

The 1911 is the grandad of simi auto handguns.

I don’t often buy expensive things but I have to spend the money why not on things that keep their value and I enjoy.
I have just about everything I need that I can afford and am allowed to have.
Next year or two I’ll get ps5 which I have money set back for that’s it.

Same I tend to stock pile huge amounts of money and resources in games, way more then others. My friends spend all their virtual and real money

They pretake in smoking, drinking, expensive food and clothes etc. I don’t and so I save up to get things like this or the swords I bought.

I would love to own a Colt 1911. It's a classic like a piece of functional art with a rich history.

I would imagine they have excellent resale value.
