I know you guys keep saying to sever contact with my uncle but if I did I wouldn't have found out about this...

My uncle messaged me and asked me if I lived at a certain address. I said no. Then he starts explaining he got his food stamps cut and to get him back he needed to say he lived at a different address and that was the address he gave them because he thought we lived there... Then I remembered the address he gave was the nature center I used to live at when I worked there briefly last year! I messaged him back saying don't use that address and he immediately went offline. I called the nature center explaining what happened and to look out for any mail coming to them addressed to my uncle.

First... He must be looking through old papers of mine to get this address... Like maybe the ones that I saved out of my car that he "misplaced". Second, if that was our address, he would screw up our food stamps potentially by claiming he lived here too. I don't think he cares...

Of course also this is food stamp fraud but I don't know if I should or how to report this...

I'd let your uncle fix his own problem... his case manager or food stamp office will verify the information he provided and likely suspend or terminate his benefits. Its not really your problem. There is also no need to contact the address he gave out, they can simply return any mail to the sender as "not at this address"...that will also tip off the food stamp office to a problem.

Don't stress yourself over it, its your uncle's mess...he'll have to clean it up on his own.

He sent me a new message explaining himself better but it still wasn't good. He was already using that address claiming that's where he lived and the DHS sent mail there that was important and he missed the mail and that is why his stamps were cut. That means he was using that address for quite some time I think but first not even telling me!

What's he expecting you to do for him, now?

He made his bed; he can lie in it. If the gov't contacts you about this - tell the truth.
