It was a friend's birthday today, so I wished him a happy birthday on his Facebook timeline. Then his new girlfriend asked me (in the reply section) how I knew him, and I said I've known him for years, since college. She said it's nice of me to keep in touch with old friends, then as I went to reply I found he had deleted me.

I used to hang out with him a few years ago (no dating, just friends). Then we went our separate ways and didn't really meet up any more (he lives in a different town to me), but I've always had him in my Facebook contacts, and so we still kept in touch.

Now he has just deleted me for saying happy birthday (I didn't put kisses or anything, just "happy birthday mate"). Other female friends of his have wrote happy birthday on his timeline too, and he didn't delete them.

Why do people do unexplainable things to me? Or did I do something wrong? :?

She probably is concerned you’d steal him away and told him he can’t have female friends(something I’ve seen expressed by quite a few not women)

Perhaps it’s best?
I have my old friends still on Facebook even though we aren’t friends, I get tormented by seeing the, have everything I’ve wanted. Gf, marriage, good job, kids etc.

I thought that until Joe mentioned that other women friends told him happy bDay & he left those up.
Perhaps he's just deleting all this friends that he doesn't see offline anymore who aren't close friends anyways.

A 'friend" didn't delete you from Facebook. A person who pretended to be your "friend" deleted you from Facebook. There is a difference.

True friends don't treat each other that way.

To me it sounds like he was told to delete you by his jealous GF , she might see you as a threat or he has said something to her to make her jealous. Don't take it personally until you know all the facts.

Strangers on the internet are not telepathic

If your friend won't tell you what you did wrong, nobody will

It could be something he thought you did, that you didn't do

It could be something you did, that is not "wrong"

Please move on with your life

Sounds like jealous GF to me, too.

Try not to feel bad about it. You didn't do anything wrong. These GF's who are jealous of other females on Facebook are pretty weird, my daughter-in-law was like that. She's not my daughter-in-law any more. My son got sick of her controlling ways and divorced her.

Caroline Martinez and Amy lee scheel deleted me on Facebook without explanation

For a long time I was angry

But then later I realized they were not worth that amount of energy, positive or negative

I'm not angry or too upset, I just got confused because his girlfriend seemed friendly when she wrote in the comment section, using smiley faces. I even put back "nice that he's found a nice girl like you", and she put "aw thanks", then she said that it's nice of me to keep in touch with old friends, and suddenly he deleted me. :?

Joe, friendships between people of opposite sex often end because of such things. It is extremely common.

She was lying.

Btw, women like her are the same ones who often cheat on their men.

No one wants to look jealous on FB , her jealousy is all behind closed doors. He outward appearance on FB wants to be of a well balanced human being.

Take it as a compliment Joe , you obviously have something that she does not.

It's just that I've been deleted before for strange reasons. A few years ago I had a male friend whom I'd met on a site that was to do with a special interest I used to have, and he added me on Facebook. We were just online friends, and then his girlfriend added me and we sometimes commented on each other's posts and stuff, and all of a sudden the male friend blocked me. I asked his girlfriend why he blocked me, and she said he blocked me because I was talking to her, and she thought it was strange of him to do that too, but he wouldn't tell her why he blocked me. She continued to chat on Facebook, with no objections. I don't think she's with him now.
