Yes... My husband was in such a group home when I met him and I moved him in with me... Now I take care of him basically, so it depends on how the other person feels.

Yeah Im so anxiouse about moving into a group home. But I dont know what else to do because Im not very good at taking care of myself . I think it will be hard to date people while in a group home. But surely there is a way.

It's probably easier to date while living in a group home, than it is to date while living with a parent. IMHO.

I would say it would be difficult to have sex in a group home; there's probably rules against it. You can certainly have sex with a person who has his/her own apartment.

But...I believe there are times when the group home staff might "bend the rules a bit" should it seem like a couple really is in love.

I used to go to a "drop-in center" which is a place for people with mental health diagnosis to be social, activities, support groups, etc... Anyway my husband went there one day when others in his group home invited him over. My husband is like hyper-social (I had him take Aspie Quiz for the fun of it and his chart was maxed out on the NT side and minimum on the Aspie side lol) and he started talking to me. He used to write poems and one day someone else was typing one in the computer and was adding pictures and I said I could do a better job... He liked what I did to his poems so much he gave me more... Then he came over to my apartment to visit where things got adult lol. Since he had no guardian he was free to leave the group home and we moved in together.

Wow that sounds really nice. Our town might be getting a drop in centre so maybe I could meet someone there.

Do you still want to live in the country, Sarah? Wouldn't you be scared of the rednecks?
