I'm always hearing how aspies are horrible as spouses or parents because we're cold and emotionless and incapable of feeling real love.

Maybe I really don't feel love or empathy. Maybe I brainwashed myself years ago into thinking I can so people wouldn't think I'm psycho. Maybe all my positive feelings are fake or illusions.

And I'm also sick of people talking to us as if we're dogs and acting like they're walking on eggshells around us because they think the smallest thing will turn us into screaming violent lunatics.

April will soon be here, which means Autism Awareness month. I hate it. I'll just be reminded even more how everyone thinks we're monsters who make their lives miserable and that we're so mentally defective the only difference between us and psychopaths is that we're unaware that we're hurting people.

I grew up struggling with this. I always wanted to connect or communicate with others and I see people being so friendly with each other but I'm stuck being cold and expressionless. I have a very hard time making the right facial expressions. I'm stuck with the emotions inside but being unable to express them which later leads to a meltdown, both at myself but at people around me who fail to see how I really feel.

if anybody has low emotional magnitude, that sure is not because of autism. ppl are all different. autistic people, even more so. i know quite a few clearly autistic people, who's emotions are not only off every single chart by both magnitude and sheer amount. i have a cyclon in my head. so do others. and yes, it can seem calm from outside, but only because expressing 7 different emotions with just 1 set of expressor tools is simply impossible. but there also is nothing wrong with having low magnitude emotions. sometimes i really wish for that. seriously, if some people cant appreciate u, dont contact with them. some people just want to spread BS on any topic. ignore them. really.
