Maybe I just make myself paranoid based on what I read online and see on TV?

But as they say "Don't believe everything you hear".

I think that rings true now more than ever. :)

In your opinion.
So whether you think the world is s**t or not is only your opinion, subject to change without notice.

I'm starting to think that the world is only truly s**t when you allow other people to make it sh***y for you.

Maybe your world is s**t but that doesn't mean my world has to be.

I'm tired of being such a f*****g downer!

Its both s**t and beautiful. The news paints an unrealistic and pessimistic view of reality

there are bad things. there are good things. its only u to chose what to see. and what to do. i chose trying to make this world better. even if by a tiny little margin. every drop in the sea. i chose to treat bad stuff like enviromental hazard. like the frost in the winter, like the heat in the summer. part of nature. even if it is s**t. every night meets it's dawn, guys. even a polar one.

It's bad enough to constantly drive me bonkers though it's nice enough to evolve people who seem to like me most days.

I'll leave it up to you to calculate the likelihood of robotic world conquest though.

It's not the world itself that sucks, it's the people. All except for the friends and family I've actually gotten to know. Like the ones back home I really miss.

And I'm seriously considering giving up the internet and WP (for real this time). I'm so damn sick and tired of the drama and crazy s**t, and I don't trust anything I read about the world anymore. It's all designed to make me paranoid and doubt myself. Being gaslighted sucks!

Yeah, yeah. There's good things, there's bad things...
I think the trick is being able to acknowledge the bad things while not hyperfocussing on them or letting them generalize your thoughts to think that everything is bad, so that you can still enjoy the good things for what they are.

It's also possible to try and avoid everything bad in order to create a fake internal utopia, and it can work for a while, but it usually doesn't last forever and I think that's an unhealthy way of being in the world.
Obviously, if a situation is entirely toxic, it makes perfect sense to disengage from that, but if it's something that's more or less unavoidable during everyday life or important in some way, in that case I think shutting yourself in isn't a good idea.

There is this story of the monk who, with one hand holds on to a cliff. If he lets go, he falls to his death.
In front of him, there is a little flower.
He knows that he's about to die and he's afraid, but regardless of that, in his last moments, instead of falling into complete desperation he decides to enjoy the beauty of the flower that's growing in front of him.

He's not delusional about it, he fully knows he's doomed. But he's intentional in choosing a path to greater happiness.

That's not to say that this is a "cure your clinical depression with this simple trick". It's not that simple, but I think there is something to be learnt from that story about accepting the good even while facing hardship. It takes being able to handle conflicting feelings and thoughts at the same time, and still being able to differentiate between them and choosing to appreciate the good when it makes sense to do so.

Do NOT lecture me about facing hardship! I don't live in a "fake internal utopia". You know I was pissing people off when I was constantly being a downer about the world and talking s**t about wanting to see my country destroyed, and now that I try to be optimistic FOR ONCE you guys put me down for it???

Urgh that does it! I'm so f*****g done! I'm outta here.

The "German town" above looks great. I think I could be happy there.
