The last couple days were hell... Fighting with husband, getting job rejections, ending up in the emergency room!

Enough was enough! We had a meeting today with my caseworker and adult protective services. They said they found an AFC home that would accept BOTH of us. My husband stormed out... But then they told me that he's making bad decisions and they might have to appoint a legal guardian for him!

Anyway he said later he changed his mind, he would consider this, but he would have to see the place himself and ask lots of questions...

Well, dear, your husband IS making bad decisions. But the fact that he would consider the dual placement - if it passes muster on a visit - is encouraging.

Would YOU be okay with something like that?

If he is not comfortable with the way his questions are answered, then I say let them go ahead and appoint him a legal guardian. He does not have the luxury to make the rules. He is endangering his own health, hence the reason they feel he needs caretaking.

I'm sorry for all the stress you are going through. By the way, what does AFC stand for?

AFC is Adult Foster Care, a group home
