I just got stitches in my finger no thanks to a broken bike pump. I saw my tendon so it's on a splint for 5 days, two days after that I'm moving into a house I just rented. I already know there's no chance I'll get much if any help. That almost never happens, for any reason bar none.

I emailed my bosses but I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm getting referred to a hand specialist doctor In a week or so. If this were any worse it might end my engineering career. I can't imagine that guy has any good news about my other fingers.

I'm going sleep after I eat more to make sure any possible tendon injury is healing.

Such is the life of a clumsy autistic fool.

Do you want me to "kiss it better?"

Well, it always worked for my kids' owies.

I'm really sorry Cberg that sounds awful. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

I guess I'm not as cabbaged as I was last night, thanks for the posts folks, I kind of just had to internally yell at myself over this. Gravity mountain biking is a somewhat serious pursuit of mine & I'd like to find the time to finally get into some racing // practicing BMX tricks. If there's one Olympic sport I'm most comfortable with, it has to be race BMX or mountain bike XC. At least I can still drive my manual car unless the ibuprofen stops working for some reason. I was not happy with the idea of being stuck with my dad's automatic Honda beater.

THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS IS MY INATE COMPULSION TO DO MORE WRENCHING. ***cnc intake plenum & car exhaust + ecu reflash, lighter fork on my new big bike + better wheel set & hub, phone hacks, new computers, software release testing finale*** <~¬ I guess that's the list for now. 8O

Stiches are moderately interesting for a spooky one such as myself. I've avoided them at my peril my whole life until now. It's down to a bee sting or so by this point. I've traded ibuprofen for saison ale & herb no less.

The good news is that my cheap-ish front bike tire was holding air today.  I guess the hot car interior was to blame. I'm going to waste money on CO² inflators now. Compressors get pretty cheap too now for a decent little used one.

Rest assured everyone, I'm rather lucky this was not a slopestyle dirt jumper crash. :jester:

I was raised by wolves anyway so don't be too concerned. :ninja:

Weirdly enough, I figured out how to get my job done next week.

I'll just use my new big screen phone as a Bluetooth keyboard. It's good to be a hacker at times like this.

***preemptively redacted for graphic content I don't feel like getting banned for today***

I ripped the top of my finger across my 3rd metacarpal, but I didn't fracture it & the stitches are only about 1.5cm ultimately.

Once upon a time my 4th left fingerprint got sliced in half when I was cooking something. I don't sweat these things as much as most people, I just knuckle down on myself about getting things done.

I'm calling the right middle my Frankenstein finger now. It was already crooked because of a bike crash without DH gloves & now it might look sewn on.

Nice photo  It looks like that's going to cause you grief every time you bend your finger.

Does it throb ?

Now you'll just have to give people the Frankie not the bird
