The soup kitchen has been closed all week so Ive been left to my own devices. Dispite haveing a little bit of money set aside Ive still found it difficult to get by. The landlord took the only wireless phone we have to fix it or something. Dont know when we will be getting that thing back. It has been gone for 4 days already. I cant call my mom from home. I had to use the phone at variouse organisations. Im afraid to get my own phone because someone could come into my room and take my money because this is a bording house. No Im no good at keeping my money in my account.

There was a guy talking about how they are increasing the rent by 45% at his place because there was renovations done. He was pretty pissed off about it. I dont know what the poor people will do. Find a new place to live I guess. The landlord here said he might have to increase the rent. This is because people dont seperate their garbage and I think we got fined before. Im not sure how much it will go up if it does. Id be fine with it as long as my parents are around to help me out.

Anyway yeah. Dont know what I will do when the soup kitchen closes for 3 weeks at the end of summer like it always does. Hopefully Ill have money saved to make it bareable. But I suck at saving money so we will see.

Yes its been a hard week. Ive been lonely. And kind of scared without a phone!

I feel like you should stock up on canned foods---like tunafish and things like that. If you don't have a can opener, get one. Fruits and vegetables, too.

Also: Frozen foods, if you have a good freezer.

Also: Those ramen soup things would be useful.

Also: Pasta, rice. Beans. You can get 5 pounds at a time of rice.

Also: cold cereal

You can get milk and juice at the market every week or every few days. Bread.

Perhaps even ham and cheese.

I usualy have lots of food saved. The last time the soup kitchen closed for 3 weeks time went by pretty quick. Thats when I first started going though. Now Im so used to going that its only closing for a week and Im dying of lonleyness. Its the socializing aspect that I miss. There were some people going to visit me but they caught colds from each other and had to cancel.

Time is going quite slow. If my soup kitchen closed for good I would beg to get into a group home so I could eat better and not be alone. The group homes in town seem pretty good.

There was a soup kitchen opend tonight thats open once a week every wednesday. There was a guy there complaining that he wished he was in a relationship. It would have been a nice opportunity to go out with someone but I wasnt into that guy. He looked 20 years older than me anyway.

I would prefer to be in a relationship as well. Even though it complicates things. It makes me feel more alive.

Sarah, some states have a program that provides free cell phones with free minutes to people with low incomes. In my state, if you have Medicaid, you automatically are eligible.

I'm sorry you are lonely.

I would bet that Nova Scotia, Canada also has free cell phones with free minutes.

Here in Canada in my town we get free phones. Welfare will contribute $30 to a phone bill. But I would have to keep my money in my room untill I get my bill. I keep my room locked but I cant always lock it every time I leave. Its the odd time the door is unlocked Im worried about.

Learn how to cook, make salads, get frozen or ready made food that doesn't require any prep. Get a cheap cell phone. If you're bored, go volunteer somewhere or find an activity that gets you out of the house and around other people.

Can you work a part time job? If so, not only would that give you something to do but you'd have some extra money.

Sarah, can you open a bank account? I know people who do everything with cash, but it is such a nuisance in this day and age, when you can do everything electronically with a debit card.

This link is a news article about a cell phone app for free calling. It is from 2016, so I don't know what changes may have taken place since then. You "just" need wifi. But, here in the US, almost every place has free wifi now, Burger King, McDonalds, coffee shops. And you could make calls from those locations. I am not thinking convenience here. I am thinking: calling your parents when you don't have the house phone available.

These are just options, which may or may not be useful to you.

Again, I am sorry you are lonely and hope your messages can at least cheer you up.
