I have a dog, and I want a cat too, but my apartment has a one pet per unit limit. My friend suggested that since I have aspergers, depression, anxiety, etc, I'm eligible for an ESA. He says I should get my doctor to prescribe me one (is that the right word?) so my landlord legally can't tell me no. My other friend says not to do it because it's unethical and takes advantage of the system. She says that I don't need an ESA and I'd just be using it to get a second pet.

It’s not unethical if you have those diagnoses and you find that animals help you feel better.

As long as the doctor prescribed (wrong word( a service animal, ethical

Former precious lil "friend" Amy Lee scheel b***h told me that she told someone her dog was a "service dog" so she could take it everywhere. Unethical

Legally, the staff can't demand documentation, demonstration or what your disability is

The staff can only ask, what job skills does the "service dog" have

Service dog law versus Leash Law

There is no way to enforce the Leash Law

The owner can sue the company , for "discrimination" , if the staff refused to let a "service dog" inside

As someone afraid of dogs, the law gets on my nerves

To no end

Constant anxiety and fear

That's like saying, of course, I am a rocket scientist. Because of do not have to demonstrate. No documentation

An emotional support animal is different from a service animal. An ASE isn't trained to do any particular job. It's just there to help ease your anxiety, depression, or whatever you have.

I think it's unethical. You already have an emotional support animal - your dog. You don't need another one you just want one and you know that.

“Emotional support Animal”?

When I was a child, we called them “pets”.

Is it even possible since you already have a dog? If your doctor "prescribed" an ESA, would that make your dog an ESA?
And since your landlord has a one pet rule, if you got an ESA, would you be allowed to keep the one that isn't? Or would both have to be ESA?
