I feel like giving up. i feel like a failure no matter how hard i try, nothing makes a difference. i cant hold jobs, or relationships. had over 100 failed jobs were half i quit and the other half i got fired. dozen failed flings and short term relationships. ended up ruining my life. im 29, high functioning. try to be sociable but come off weird or creepy. live in a delapted, moldy basement that the government pays for off my disability checks. all i ever do anymore is smoke weed drink beer and play video games. i cant even cope with life cause i honestly have no friends. everybody hates me or thinks im a burden. i went to 2 different colleges for electronic assembly and and vocational studies to help people with disabilities find jobs. and that was only unpaid work experiences. honestly i don't even know what to say anymore. im just confused and ranting trying to keep the suicidal thoughts at bay. just hoping i can relate and connect with 1 other soul out there...

I can relate, my life has been stuck in limbo for years. I have had like a dozen jobs most of which I left. I've gone to college 3 times which led nowhere. I haven't had a long term relationship in ages. I'm on disability as well and would probably be living in a rat's nest right now if it weren't for my parents. My days are mostly spent playing video games, I rarely go out. I struggle chronically with suicidal thoughts too.

Based on your description you have had a lot more jobs and dates than me

Based on your description you are 29

And I am 36

Whats wrong with smoking pot and playing video games? Sounds like the life to me. I wish I could be in a short term relationship. I used to only date short term. I cant seem to even do that anymore!

Maybe the standards are higher in BC. Everyone in Nova Scotia smokes pot and plays video games and doesnt care.

When was there ever a "point"?

Why does there have to be a "point"?

what is the point of life. are we supposed to make a difference if in the end. were all dead anyways. with nothing to show for it. we would have wasted our whole lives for nothing then.

There never was a point, all there is is what you can make of it.

One of the things that helped me was the realisation I didn't need to compare myself to an arbitrary, fabricated definition of social success.
I focus on the fact I don't need other people to validate who I am.

Trust me, there is a life beyond this. Ive seen it, felt it. It doesnt matter weather you think you were awsome or not. What matters is that you were kind to others.

Maybe some of us can't settle for that, even if I can and maybe you can too.

I'm ready to settle, maybe someday OP will be too.

Oh Im sorry if I havent been supportive enough. I didnt realize people were mean to you.

I can definately relate to that. They were so mean to me in grade 6 it scarred me for life. I was so depressed I thought I was dying. Then later on every time I got a boyfriend they all disrespected me.

I want to find someone to love but havent been having much luck.

Life so hard on us. Yet we still keep going. Either resiliency or insanity. I just hope, one day I can put a mark on this world before I go
