Have anyone wondered why you don't see the sprouts of quinoa before cooking yet you see them after cooking? It seems counter-intuitive since cooking it is supposed to kill it, yet sprouts seem to indicate the opposite. And this also makes me feel bad about cooking it. It reminds me of what happened between me and a certain girl I found online a couple of months ago, when she decided to meet me "sooner" in a response of something "bad" I did (see this post for more detail viewtopic.php?t=377751 ) Are quinoa sort of like her?

Anyway, if anyone knows science, can you give me a scientific explanation as to what happens. Is it a biological phenomenon (as in, quinoa makes last ditch attempt to survive), or is it pure physics (as in the sprout expands due to heat)? I guess if its biology it would make me feel even worse about eating it than if it was physics.

By the way, did anyone ever try to plant the quinoa seeds? If you plant one seed un-cooked and the other one cooked, will one or both of them grow? Which one(s)?
