That shouldn't freak me out as much as it does; I'm still working & I have almost 20 referrals to find myself an offer where I am. I like my coworkers & I don't want to leave, I'm waiting on news about various positions & haven't heard anything though. I've been constantly applying & taking recruiting calls, some for jobs I don't even want, just in case. I'm even answering spam calls since for all I know they have jobs to tell me about.

I need to get out of this office early today for my sanity, but I also need the money & I should wait to see if my bosses will tell me anything.

This is exhausting & confusing. I've been asked to rewrite my resumé three times, different ways, by three different people, as if I can do that in 5 minutes. It usually takes at least a week or two. My only human interactions save for small talk are demanding, rushed & full of language gaps. I feel more & more like the world only cares about me as an engineer, my knowledge supercedes my real life. :? :( 8O

:lmao: I met some of them. I guess the trick is to have lots of skills yet mostly to be recognized professionally for skills I don't actually have. That's how I usually learn at work anyway, it's not about faking anything, I just have to push a lot of ambiguity ahead of what I know right now.

You actually know a lot of stuff I've had to learn as I go here. I'm just a hacker with some experience in big companies, not as specialized as some work you've mentioned.

I know I'll find something but I'm concerned it might not be as cool as where I'm working. Whatever happens, I need to see my friends more & I have no idea if I'll pull that off.

I guess my goal is to have a job offer by September 15th. I have no idea what that's going to be & I'll only freak out more if it's multiple offers, since I don't want to base such a decision on money entirely.

Blergh. Making money simply doesn't improve my life at all in the moment. If anything it's just isolating me more.
