No, not all my social issues are caused by anxiety

So my mom seems to think all my social issues are due to anxiety, not ASD, but then I do a social screw up even when I am not anxious. So there I have it, my anxiety does not cause me to have social issues and make me do the wrong thing in a social situation, they probably just make them worse when I have anxiety. But anyway, I come home with my son from his reading class and I am very hungry and was thinking about eating something when I get in the house. I see pizza had been made and I thought my husband made it. It was still hot so I figured he was waiting for it to cool. I cut myself up a couple slices and put it on a tiny plate and sit down to eat. I mention it to my husband about how he made pizza and he said my brother had bought it and made it. I thought "Oh that was nice of him to feed all of us." I eat and my brother comes inside and asked "Who ate the pizza?"

The way he asked it made me feel I wasn't supposed to have it and I made a innocent mistake. But my son tells him I got some pizza and my husband mentioned the same and my brother called me inconsiderate and said how I should have fed the kids first.

I didn't know I was supposed to do that because I don't read minds and I thought it was cooling down and the kids were busy playing so I figured they were not ready for food yet. But I got shamed for not knowing the right thing to do and I was just minding my own business.

But anyway, all this did was prove to me that my social issues are not by anxiety because I still do social errors even when I am calm. I have no idea why my mom thinks all my social issues are due to anxiety. But when I do a social error when I am calm, I am an a**hole all of a sudden and I must have done it on purpose so I get scolded for it and get told how self absorbed I am or how inconsiderate I am. It makes me think "Maybe I really do need to be anxious and I will have a reason why I am anxious. Anxious about doing something wrong in a situation, anxious about making myself look like an a**hole, be anxious where there are other people over, be anxious when I am out in public. Then have my mother tell me I just have anxiety and then I am calm and I don't worry about messing up and bam I do mess up and get shamed for it and that reminds me "See Beth, you do have social issues, that's not your anxiety, you have anxiety because you have social issues." All it takes is people to remind me like my brother just did for example." And this is why it's not uncommon for ASD people to have social anxiety. We get shamed for it because everyone around us thinks we did it on purpose.

But anyway, I am not going to dwell on this. I just wanted to rant because of my mother's belief about my disability when I know it's not accurate because I see proof all the time and this was one of them.
