Now I'm sh*****g bricks. I saw a thread saying about something to do with if a certain group of rulers or something run the world autistics will be thrown into concentration camps and tortured. Or that's at least what I assume it's trying to mean.

If it's scaremongering then that has gone too far, because concentration camps are NO JOKE.

I am going to stay away from the news and current events subforum from now on, because that is the only place in any media I ever read about such scary s**t.

Is there any way I can get Asperger's taken off my medical records? I really don't want Nazis tracking me down and forcing me into Autchwitz. I want this sh***y f*****g Asperger's taken off my medical records, I don't want to be tortured and gassed.

Don't worry about it. I know the thread you are referring to and will lock it if need be to protect our more vulnerable members.

Don't let that thread spoil your evening please. Avoid PPR if possible as it's usually a minefield.

You are right that it's no joke to post stuff like that. It's like so many things that are sensationalist, such as the misleading news headlines especially in tabloids.

I wasn't personally bothered by that thread, but I get the feeling. I have a rule to not post in to a certain section of WP at all for a bit similiar reasons, but sometimes I go and go through it even though I know it isn't good for me.

I'm just one, big nervous wreck when I hear this sort of thing. I already live in hatred of my ASD, I've never been able to accept it properly, I've always been angry about it, and now it makes it worse when I feel victimised by it. I live in fear and anguish about this sort of thing happening. Surely they won't get away with repeating the awful history of the Holocaust? Even the Nazis covered it up when it was happening, because it is that wrong. And in this day and age, with political correctness and human rights being a big thing, surely the whole world won't let these new Nazis take over and for some reason single autistics out?

But why am I even discussing this? It's absolutely terrible, and I am terrified, depressed and feel like committing suicide before it happens.
Why do people here post such scaremongering s**t?

It's all hypothetical crap.

Don't even bother taking it seriously. People like to be negative and to thing in the "worst common denominator" mode.

Well actually, some people feel better when they get to talk about things that worry them. I personally am one of those people. It's not to scare people, at least not always, but to get support, which is the meaning of the whole forum in the first place.

Yes but there's a difference between discussing feelings and scaremongering. I mean, some other people here don't seem to freak out about it like I do. I hope Kraftie is right. He's usually right. But these sorts of threads can drive some people to suicide if taken seriously, because being starved, tortured then burnt is no f*****g joke and nobody deserves that, not even the wickedest of people. Is it only autistic people they're gonna throw into these terrifying places, or is it other minority groups too? What about people with cancer? Or dementia? Or downs syndrome? Or one-legged people? I really cannot live with this fear. I feel like screaming and screaming until I pass out. I'm that terrified. I am f*****g terrified. It's hard to express how terrified I am in just text on a forum. People won't take me seriously.

Joe90 you are seriously overreacting, others don't appreciate that that thread got locked because you overreacted. These things are hypothetical and are NOT going to happen to you. So calm down. People aren't freaking out because it is unlikely that it is going to happen.

I mean, you are wanting to write a story on the Holocaust and you are terrified of this? Seriously? Get a grip.

I knew someone would bring that up.

I'm sorry but I hate having Asperger's as it is, and reading such terrifying things related to it just makes me feel panic, depression, anger and anguish. Threads like that are anxiety-fuel to those of us with high anxiety disorders.

And I never knew one thread could get another locked?

Well, it's true. You can't just go around telling people to stop posting stuff that you find nerve wracking. It's not their fault.

It doesn't matter Joe. Just calm down. Everything is fine...OK? You are safe.

Yes, there is a difference, but the idea of where the line goes is not universal. You think it's scaremongering and have the right to think so, but those who think it isn't have the right to think so as well. It's not really your fault that you got triggered, but the people who wanted to discuss the topic aren't at fault, either.

I think that the best thing is to just avoid threads that have titles that sound like they could be triggering or, as a bigger precaution, avoid entire sections on the forum.

Damn, I wanted to know where members were talking about me. :)

Yes, I will avoid those sorts of threads from now on. I was just searching the news and current threads and didn't know what the title of that thread meant until I read it, and I felt triggered by it. Sometimes overreacting gets you heard.

@ OP: Many people mud-sling each other not only in the PPR forum, but also the News forum too.

In fact, one guy who is a regular on both forums believes many conspiracy theory BS he thinks are true and tries to force such rhetoric down the throats of anyone who disagrees with him. Whenever this happens, he panics and plays the victim even if mods don't give him a warning.

That is a good idea. I am pretty sure you didn't shut down that thread on purpose because you don't have control over the mods actions. They were the ones that decided to shut it down.
