I feel like I’m failing as an adult. I am in bad mood, this weather making me tired, making me feel bad, causing me to get a little headache inside my apartment, I feel like my muscles are weak, tired, hurting, I have very less energy, it little hard for me to move around, cuz feels like something really heavy on my muscles, my legs are ok, it’s mostly arms. Three weeks ago, I was washing my body with a big bowl & washing my hair, when I was washing my body, something very weird happened & scary, my body felt paralyzed, it felt like I was having a seizure inside my body, I don’t know, it was PRETTY BAD, it only lasted 1 or few minutes then I was ok, this happened last year in the hospital too. With everything I need to do, find a primary doctor, an eye doctor, new caregiver, find a new bed, find a social worker, order stuff online, find a way to deposit my mother’s checks & deposit my other money from the trust, my mom left for me, my sister & my nephew, so I won’t have to ask my sister for my money (I HATE asking her, my mom put my sister in charge of the trust) With everything going on & taking care of my cat, it can be tooooo much, Im trying to stay calm, I’m failing as an adult.

Does anyone feel like they are failing too?

Abusolutely - yes. Some days are just too hard (dealing with people, noise, etc.) . It really takes its toll on my mood/mental-health/well-being.

Did you talk to your doctor about the weird seizure thing?

Wait I'm suppose to be an adult?! Oh yeah I'm 32, how did that happen....

We don't really do that well with stress and adult life certainly knows how to pile that on. Try to only tackle one thing at a time, break stuff down into easy steps. It can help you get through stuff without feeling so overwhelmed by it all.

I often feel like don't even know how to exist among others, never mind trying to be a properly/normally functioning adult. I figure as long as I'm not dead I'm not failing but I don't feel like I'm exactly doing well either.

I try not to think that I'm failing.
It's scary thinking that way.

I'm a failure as a person and as an adult, welcome to the club. You'll get your membership package so long as I remember to send it out.

It would take me a while to work through a list of chores that big. I'm supposed to be calling every compounding pharmacy and play the game of phone tag with them to find one that will compound a medicine I need but so far I've only managed to call 4 of them in the last week or so. My executive functioning is trash and in that respect, yeah I'm failing at being an adult too. I'll try and at least accomplish one task a day even if that isn't anywhere remotely near others my age would be capable of.
