I'm interested to know what's everybody's favourite AND worst seasons of the year are.

My favourite season is spring because the days are getting longer and everything is coming to life.
And my worst season is autumn because the days are getting shorter and everything is dying.

I like the summer weather and I dislike the winter weather, unless it is raining and mild. But I don't like the dark.

What are yours?

I have a love-hate relationship with winter.

On one hand, I really don't like it when it gets cold (basically meaning -10 or less), don't like it when there's only a few hours of sunlight during the day, don't like not being able to swim in the pond in the woods and don't like the danger of slippery streets...

...But on the other hand, I love it when the weather's just right to make things out of snow, I love the sight of snowy landscapes, I love the feeling of finally stepping inside of my warm home when it's -20 outside, I love the cracking of the fireplace, I love the crunching sound that snow makes when I walk on it in low temperatures, I love the moment I go outside and from the way the snow crunches under my boot I can tell that it's usable for snowballs, I love how I can see stars early and of course, I love how I don't need to wonder what to wear when I go outside. It'll be cold, no question about it, so I ought to dress accordingly. Here you can never be sure during other seasons, but winter is winter.

Autumn is the best weather here (Albuquerque) - the mornings are cool and days are just warm and pleasant, not too hot like summer or windy like spring. Leaves change but don't usually finish falling until late November, and you see lots of hot-air balloons flying, so everything looks more colorful. Winter is worst, just cold, dull, and depressing. It rarely snows, and when it does people drive like idiots.

Fall is the best of all worlds, the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold, and then you have the anticipation of the holidays, the changing colors on the trees turning into a panoply of shades and hues mixed in with the fact that summer has not entirely left so you can still enjoy long days outside. It's just too hard to beat fall, it's a perfect balance.

I love long light nights. I prefer going for walks at 8pm. You can't do that in the middle of December. I join a gym over winter or I go crazy.

So, I love summer best, winter worst.

But I also enjoy spring. I like when all the bulbs start to bloom. I enjoy all the lively colours in autumn. I'm liking forward to it this year. The leaves are starting to change already

It would either be autumn or winter for the favourite season. I prefer cold weather. Plus, we don't have snow in my state, so I'd imagine it doesn't get as cold here as it does in snowy areas.

Least favourite would be summer. I hate the heat and basically have a big fan on me on the highest setting all summer long. As a matter of fact, I tend to use a fan all year long except when it gets particularly cold in the middle of winter.

Living in Australia, it can get as hot as 40 degrees Celsius here in the summer. Sometimes even hotter.

Ouch. 30 is bad enough. I've never dealt with 40 and don't really want to either. 8)

Summer, or Spring because I like the nice weather and my garden in my backyard. I hate Winter with a passion. I can't stand the cold, it makes my pain so much worse. I refuse to even go outside walking anywhere and my dad always has the house so cold in the Winter time. The skies are usually gray too which makes me depressed, I need the sunshine.

I probably like autumn/fall the best. Spring next.

I don't mind winter when I don't have to drive in, or shovel, snow.

Summer really sucks to me. Two months of having to seek air-conditioned environments constantly.

Yep, not fun. Being in the southern hemisphere, our seasons are the opposite way around to those in the northern hemisphere.

We have Christmas in summer. I can tell you when we think Christmas, we're not thinking of cold or snow.

40 Celsius----easy!

I would say more like 45-50 Celsius at times----even at the coast. Though it's usually in the 20's Celsius on the coast.

There's only two seasons from where I live: One involves humid summers that could go 40+ C. Another consists of rainy days and storm warning signals.
And nights and days' time do not change much.

But I can imagine liking spring or autumn. Disliking winter in my case is no brainer.
And, the idea of having nights and days shorter or longer is completely foreign to me. But I could imagine liking it both since I do not mind such scale and cycle of change.

I like autumn the most. Especially when it's just starting to transition into the colder months. That time where the leaves are beginning to alter in colour and twist inwards as they wither. I think that there's something almost hypnotic about how a leaf falls to the ground after spiralling around in the wind.

Also, I believe that maple seeds have a simple beauty to them. There's something peaceful about autumn to me, a sense of familiarity and comfort. I enjoy the contrast of red, yellow and brown leaves rotating around in the air against the grey sky.

However, I also like Spring. It is a close second of mine. There's just so much energy in the air around that time. I feel motivated and relaxed whenever I walk by restaurants with daffodils displayed on each table. The weather is mild, unlike in the depths of Winter.

Speaking of which, Summer and Winter are both difficult to deal with, albeit for the complete opposite reason.

In Summer, you don't feel like doing anything because it's too hot, and in Winter it's too cold and dark. However, it's easier to get warmer than it is to cool off. So I'll give Winter my vote before Summer. (Though I do enjoy Summer since it's a good time for swimming, bodyboarding and paddleboarding. Oh, and some of the wonderful flowers of course. Then again, some of the more resilient plant life that grows in Winter is also nice).

With all that said, I don't think that I would enjoy Winter as much without Summer (and vice versa) or Autumn and Spring without Summer and Winter.
