Recently, I've started working as a substitute teacher, and I've started having some weird dreams in the past week.

Here are the accounts of my 2 dreams I posted on another forum:

Quote:
I had a dream last night where, first, I had a false memory of a real job I worked that I had to leave due to disability. I kept remembering the job where I was working at strange hours and the place was flooded, so that the water was up to my waist when I was sitting down. I've often had recurrent dreams about that job, where I'm often coming in at odd hours and the place seems particularly lonely, and I always come in late or leave early and miss shifts.

I was then going to meet with these people, mainly older people, who I cannot identify and seemed kinda abstract to me. We went on an activity. I went to retrieve something from my car, which was kinda messy and parked in a driveway, and I noticed a wildfire was starting to move into the city, and I could see the bushes at the end of the driveway catch fire. I remember noting at the time that we should now try to escape, but the other people in the group seemed to be too slow to recognize the danger, which added to my worry.

I don't remember anything past that.

Quote:
So I had a dream where for whatever reason I was a resident of the Death Star (from Star Wars) as it went around destroying planet after planet. I then briefly left it to go to a fire cave planet that was slated to be destroyed. On the fire cave planet, underground, the environment was such that there was fairly dark rock, with maybe a brownish color with some blues and greens, and areas of fire; but no lava. However, I was inside some kind of station, safe from the environment. Preparing to leave just before the Death Star was to destroy the planet, I realized I had to go to the bathroom, and I thought it would be a pain to have to go while on my transport back to the Death Star, so I stopped by the bathroom. I tried to go a number 1, but nothing came out, and I was annoyed as there was very little time left to leave; I contacted the Death Star, but they said the time of the planet's destruction could not be delayed. I realized I would have to get off this planet now. It was a pain, though, since I still needed to use the bathroom.

And that's it.

I continue to have that sense of impending change, which also excites my fear and anxiety causing me to overanalyze every little thing and worrying that it will wreck my life. But I wonder if the change is necessarily bad.

My mother had a similiar dream to your first one recently, except that it involved a theatre fire, with a similiar ending. I expressed the same interpretation, as she is soon to retire and relocate from a difficult and overtaxing job and a region that she doesn't like (any more than I do). I have had many vivid dreams over the past few years which I have interpreted with the help of a wiccian friend and some published books on dream signifigance. Many of these interpretations of my dreams gave clues to events which actually came to pass. Mom also has had dreams of needing to use the restroom and having trouble finding one. I have yet to find an interpretation of what exactly that could signify.

I had a dream last month that I was talking to a rabbi. In another dream that night, I saw a policeman on a horse riding past my front window out on my street. My book on dream signifigance said that for a non-Jewish person (for the record, I was raised Catholic) talking to a rabbi in a dream was a sign that a friend was going to help me. Seeing a policeman was also a sign of aid from someone close to me. Seeing a horse meant prosperity (unless it is black which is a sign of grief, the policeman's horse was brown in the dream).

Last week, I was ignored for a long time by a mechanic at a Wal Mart store in Hisxon, TN while waiting to drop off my Hyundai for an oil change. When I confronted him finally, he acted surprised that anyone had been waiting at the counter and indicated that it would take three hours or more. I knew that there wasn't anyone ahead of me as I'd passed through the garage to go inside, so I asked him why. He indicated that I did not look very busy, gestured to my appearence, and even asked me what I did for a living. For the record, I was in a tee shirt and shorts with my hair down, as it was extremely hot that day. I get flack from southerners for having long hair as a man sometimes, but I am never too happy about it. I went to customer service and asked to speak with a store manager to file a complaint. When the manager emerged, he greeted me by my first name. It was an old friend I'd not seen in years. He apoligized profusely for the lousy service, and said that since he couldn't excuse what happened, he gave me a $20 gift card as recompence. Oddly enough, I also learned that day that he had been a police officer in Nashville for several years, (but as security manager at that wal mart store, he was making much better wages).

Fire has so many cool meanings, when I think of it I think of purification, sacrifice/offering, renewal.

Also, the whole having to pee thing and not being able to reminds me of loss of control, performance anxiety/feeling pressured to make something necessary happen withing a brief window.

I used to have repetitive dreams when I was a kid. They can be disturbing after a while because I know my subconscious is trying to work something out. They were about 'powerlessness' when I was a kid. As an adult, I'm always fighting Grizzly Bears ( and winning ) or alligators.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Interesting there, Persephone.

So I have 2 more dreams:

Quote:
There is a party with my housemates. There is a lot of green leafy food available in a buffet-like setup. I go and get lots of food, wondering if I'll like it. But then I drop it, and look at the floor and see that I have spilled some Caesar salad. The end.

The other dream, that I just had:

Quote:
So I travel by train to the other side of the country, to North Carolina. I travel as a passenger in a convertible with some guy who takes me around to places. During this dream, I also had memories of other places where I lived. When I attempted to return home on a Wednesday, I missed the train by just 10 minutes; it would not be available again until next Wednesday. Then the guy drove me to this place, and I'm already getting annoyed. And I was like, alright, can I go home now? But then I remembered as he reminded me that there was this other errand he had to run, and it came specifically after the first. I'm pretty frustrated and annoyed as I see it's only Thursday: I've still got 6 more days to go. The end.

I had a weird dream that a young girl and her baby sibling had to 'get away' so I distracted people so they could hide. Then for some reason we were in a house(I guess my house in the dream) and I had to close the curtains so a drone couldn't see them. For some reason it started out I distracted people and they ran away but then it switched to they were hiding in my house till they could escape unseen.

That was a weird dream...not sure what they were running from or why I had the need to help them 'escape' but it was super weird.

Another dream:

Quote:
I had a dream where I saw a woman get murdered. I stayed at a hotel with someone, and there was stuff on the ground and a water faucet on the wall, and I turned it on, and clear water poured out into a puddle on the floor; I later checked out. The police were able to deduce the weapon that was used, and it was one that only could have been acquired by a state actor, who they believe was acting for a country located in the Balkans. It was my job to investigate and I went undercover at a meeting there, where I saw the guy who did it, and he was making subtle threats to the people around him. I sat at the table next to the killers and the people who he threatened were sitting across from me. I was afraid of being killed. We stayed longer at the hotel, and I looked like a man and there was another woman with me and the people at the hotel thought we were a married couple even though we were staying in 2 separate rooms, though the 2 rooms were kinda in a cul-de-sac in the hotel. I showed the puddle of water to the hospital staff, fearful of him criticizing me for turning the faucet on, but he simply said the faucet must have been leaking. The end.

Interesting. A party may be the sign of having fun in the future, but could spell finances lost. Throwing a party, in particular, could indicate quarrels ahead. Dreaming of food is generally a good sign, particularly in the surplus indicated by a buffet setup. Seeing salad is a healthy sign. Your talent will soon be recognized at work. Caesar salad? Spinach also indicates a happy and healthy life. Spicing food with pepper suggests avoiding a new financial venture while grinding pepper indicates that it is a good time to take up a new hobby. Overall, I would advise avoiding squandering money or good health, given a spilled salad, and avoid arguments. The salad, in and of itself, is a good sign.

Many signs here, again mostly good. Boarding the train signals appropriate optimism about the future, while getting off of one indicates a shortlived emotional crisis. A railway station is of important news forthcoming at work. Meeting someone at a station sees help in your career by someone influencial. Simply seeing a train arrive indicates making a key friend at work. Seeing a train leave means that only rational thinking will solve your problems. Riding in a car while someome else drives is a sign of good luck financially in the short term. Being annoyed in a dream is contrary: all of your plans will go smoothly. Home is symbolic of financial security. The many errands and side trips seem indicative of the normal financial trials and tribulations we all face day to day. Your path seems grounded in both good decisions already made, and good choices available to you. Finally, arriving at your destination yourself is a sure sign that your efforts will be rewarded.

Escpae in a dream can be an ominous sign. Deception is a sign of anxiety, worry and loneliness. It also suggests complications or losses in your business life. Confusion in a dream is a warning to stick to your guns. Making changes would not be good right now. Observing a chase, however. is a forecast for a comfortable old age. Taking part in a conspiracy suggests you are deluding yourself about something, while discovering a conspiracy means that you are being compromised to the point that you must stand up for yourself. Defending someone else suggests that your trust in others is well placed. Dreaming of hiding something is a warning not to be secretive about your problems. Confiding in someone may lead to help for a solution. Rescuing anyone indicates that sudden success will be yours.

Death in a dream is rarely a bad omen. Hearing or witnessing a crime means that things are about to change for the better, but witnessing a killing means that you won't like the change at first. A stranger's corpse, oddly enough, predicts a full and happy life. Seeing yourself in a disguise is a warning not to be secretive. Talk things over with a trusted friend. Being as a policeman is a sign that you've been meddling in other people's affairs, whereas detectives mean you will soon solve a mystery. Now, plumbing or other pipes can mean that you are making things worse by being pessimistic. Cheer up, and things will turn out well. Otherwise, old or leaky plumbing spells a misunderstanding at work. You are wasting your time if you spot a leak. Try to find a wider scope for your activites. If you are afraid in your dreams, you will recognise your difficulties and find the courage to conquer them. As Ms. Percephone indicated earlier, face up to danger in a dream and you will overcome your problems.

It's been fun dusting off my books and my medicine hat and dabbling in spiritualism again. I am going through a tough transitional phase myself rite now, but getting naught but good omens in my own dreams. Hopefully these interpretations are giving you guys some insight. I'm digging the conversation, myself!

Sweet dreams....
