I'm Intimidated By Guys My Age

I'm an 18-year-old boy in my sophomore year of college. I don't know why, but I have a hard time getting along with most guys my age. I just feel so radically different from them, mainly because I'm incredibly quiet, introverted, and sensitive, and other guys seem to be very extroverted and not interested in the things that I'm interested in. I feel more comfortable hanging out with girls for that reason. Most of them are far more laid-back and friendly. Is that weird?

From what I've understood, it's very common for autistic people to feel like an alien among their peers, so in a way one could say that what you're feeling is actually the norm. If you're not bothered about not hanging out with the guys and like hanging out with the girls then I'd say there's no problem, but if you want male company of your age, you might want to try to seek out some of the "nerds." They're usually more quiet and introverted, so getting along with them might be easier for you.

I would say... enjoy hanging out with the girls then.

I've always preferred mixed company or all female company.
