No, it was the first car I ever rode in when I was born and also the one I passed my driver's test in, the one I took apart & fixed in the front yard...no, all my life the definition of "car" has been synonymous with "1996 Corolla." So I'd prefer to keep it stock--they're pretty that way, and I like the fact that stock parts cost next to nothing because I'm a terrible tightwad.
What have you got and how have you fixed it up?
Still pretty cool, even if it's not a Levin or Trueno** coupe. I'm a big fan of the older RWD Corollas, but they kept making fun models even after it went FF for at least a few generations.
I've got a '06 Civic with a straight pipe and lowered an inch. It's loud, but it'll sound better once I install a 4-1 header (even if a 4-2-1 is better suited for a street car, a 4-1 sounds better). The goal is to make it sound like a sports bike.
**Trueno is the equivalent of the Levin, but of the Toyota Sprinter, which was a sibling model to the Corolla in Japan. The Corolla was sold at Corolla dealerships, the Sprinter at Toyopet dealerships, iirc.
