Once they hate you, there is no conciliation. It is not what you say, but what the people who hate you imagine it’s intent to be, and they will only imagine the worst. I can not control what others imagine, but only my own words, and I can either wallow in self-pity over this all-too human behavior, or I can simply dismiss their hatred as irrelevant.

Hatred does indeed suck. My mom hates me now.

I read your other thread, TW1ZTY. It sucks, but at least you have a chance to make something of it.

I understand hatred. My father hated me. My classmates hated me. My teachers hated me. My ex-wife hated me. All really important people in my life hated me because I wouldn’t bow down and play their victim.

Now some WP members hate me.

So what? It’s part of the human condition.

The sad part is that trying to be nice means nothing.

So their hatred means nothing.

What's really sad is when you spend years trying to rebuild trust and make up for the way one has acted in the past, only to have it all flushed down the crapper because you make another mistake.

The perfection some parents demand out of their children is sickening, especially if they have diagnosed autism AND mental illness!

I still haven't adjusted to how lightly the term is used now. I'm old and had a very harsh and violent childhood and youth and still can't say that I really hated more than 3 or 4 individuals along the way

I can't say that I've hated one single person.

I tend to hate some IDEAS more.

I certainly hope this thread does not attract people to start weighing again in as to why they have a problem with you. I'm sure that wasn't your intention in creating it, but that's certainly a possible outcome.

I see no reason to hate you , Fnord . I may not always agree with what you say, and how you go about things, but hating you for that would be way over the top . It's not as though you ever do anything intentionally to hurt others .

It sucks and to me, the hatred you described makes no sense. I once knew the sweetest girl and she was neurodiverse with multiple invisible disabilities that made it hard for her to deal with light, look at certain colours without hallucinating etc and she deals with chronic pain. She is an absolute sweetheart beut guess what? People hate her and often say she is faking her disabilities for attention. She used to get awful panic attacks where she lost control and would begin screaming and have to move and not be able to stop so people called her attention seeker. When she didn't want to do things that would make her hallucinate teachers made fun of her in front of students etc. One girl even took it on to herself to destroy many of her close friendships and those of her friends (including me) and spread lies. Someone even made an account which told her to kill herself, as in the name of the account was kill yourself 'her name'. Was there any logic to this? No.

I knew another girl who hated someone so much she took advantage to a situation to scratch down her arm and then pretend it was an accident even though it was huge scratches that bled. Then she decided that she would take that back and say it was justified. It was over a rubber... She then brought up bad moments from the other girls edgy phase where she said many unsavoury things (which she had already apologised for) and made them sound like they were recent to turn the class against her. She even used my mental illness & autism as a tool to try and hurt the other girl, saying that she was doing it to help me, speaking on my behalf for things I didn't even say which made the other girl hate me until she got to know me and realised that what she was being told were lies.

In short hatred sucks and sadly, I hate them both now. At least I have the ability to be polite.

... Right, but OP is supposedly self-aware enough to see that he is doing a lot wrong but he's here blaming others.

I'm not going to lie to you about the total & utter purity of my intentions, I'm just here to tell Fnord to shape his arse up the way he always does for others.

I've said it before & I seriously disdain repeating myself, but I find Fnord to have serious theory of mind issues. The guy has never once acknowledged anyone else's thought process, he's just always here saying it must be wrong because he's so reasonable.

At least Fnord is moaning in the appropriate forum section now.

I resonate to the second sentence even if, just like you, I like to try to understand things anyway.

I won't even attempt to justify myself otherwise, I've been at the receiving end of some atrocious acts, which is probably why I don't understand the whole "I had a conflict or 5 with a stranger on the internet and now I hate them" thing.

Hating Fnord would be a waste of his same negative energy. I don't want any of that noise in my head. Fnord is not perfect & he has yet to face up to that.

I actually agree with Fnord for once, but his point is moot. The guy says hateful stuff all the time & plays it off like he's just nostalgic for better days when it wasn't considered hateful.

I'm not being "ageist" by telling Fnord in no uncertain terms he needs to get with the times, I'm giving him the unfiltered truth & if he practices what he preaches, he should be greatful.

I think most people were basically saying "knock it off" rather than "I hate your guts".

And I think this thread is likely to provoke them into trying to make that difference clear, which is probably still going to be viewed as making more personal attacks, and people might end up getting banned for it, as was indicated in another thread.

If he's not here to work on his ability to communicate, the way I see it, he's wasting everyone's time.
