two weeks ago i made a appointment with my therapist. i forgot to go.

on friday i made an appointment to see him again before i moved, today.

i forgot that one too.

things never occur to me until it's too late. it's like i have alzheimers. i have the worst memory ever. every single day i forget things and every day i'm looking for them. can't find my keys. can't find my glasses. can't find my phone when i had it a minute ago. it's embarrassing. it's infuriating. it's probably because i'm on a constant of anxiety and alertness and have a thousand things on my mind at once.

why am i like this? how can i fix this?

Probably an appointment calendar would be useful.

I need one myself.

Don't lose the appointment calendar!

Now for the serious answer:

I'm very particular about always putting stuff, like keys, phones etc in exactly the same place. Of course, if it doesn't end up in the same place I'm screwed.

I have a diary which sits right next to me (in the same place) and I check it every morning. I also use (sometimes) a reminder function on my phone (the phone is next to the diary).

That's as much as I can do...

It is the same for me. I have also said it is like having Alzheimers.

Although my therapist told me Alzheimers is not forgetting where your keys are, but rather forgetting what keys are for.

I have a calendar on refrigerator that I can check out whenever I'm cooking, which is nearly every day.
When it gets close to the date for appointments I'll write down a list of stuff to do.

That's why I have so many lists!

Have you tried using a calendar app on your phone?

Becoming organized as others have said would help greatly. Always keep keys in the same place.
I have bad memory now I think because I’m on medication. My memory seems to have gotten worse since I’ve been on it. Maybe it’s because I have more to keep track of lately too.

putting things in the same place isn't always an option because i live with a psychopathic clean freak who's constantly moving my things around without telling me.

i want to wallop him.
i do have a calendar and reminders app...and it does help. what doesn't help is forgetting to set reminders to begin with :skull:

Someone already suggested a calendar/reminder app, so I'll butt in with getting an Echo Dot or similar voice-activated assistant device. Great for setting timers and having them tect you reminders well in advance. Also great for pasta timers.
