I saw this on Youtube and it's a pretty interesting and IMHO practical video, admittedly there's some political jargon loaded up front that was a bit confusing but the rest was pretty sharp.
This got me thinking - do we have any trauma resource threads? I get the impression that a lot of our challenges in life are some combination of dealing with the state of the world (ie. what people are perfectly willing to do to one another) as well as dealing with what the world has done to us. It's somewhat obvious that if you don't take healing into your own hands it won't happen because, unfortunately, life's a competition and it's more in another person's interest to see you impeded and running slower in the race rather than healing traumas and living better - life being a deeply zero-sum game and all. Come to think of it if we hate life being a zero-sum game and want to make a better culture, it seems like about all we can do is clean up the mess within ourselves that other people have made.
I also liked what he said about someone he had contact with earlier in his life who went through the process of forgiveness largely for the reason that he was sick of feeling possessed by the people who'd done him harm and it's clear that when that sticks it's not that they wronged you once or on repeat for as long as they had you under their power, they get to go on wronging you every morning based on what they put in your head and it's critical to remove them and remove what the vaulted into your processing because they didn't deserve the power over you that they abused to begin with and far more so they have no right to abuse you for the rest of your natural life.
I might be able to dig around and find far better videos even but I think this launches in a good direction.
