Yes, I do know that social distancing is saving lives from COVID-19 (and only COVID-19), but it's not going to do any good in the long run, especially how over the top they are where I come from.

Nobody's coming into contact with any viruses at all, and one of the things that helps our immune systems thrive is coming into contact with germs and viruses we're already immune to. Not coming into contact with these other germs and viruses will cause them to become unfamiliar to our immune systems and that will not work out so good in the future.

Also children aren't coming into contact with any viruses and germs that they should be building immunity to, because they are being cocooned indoors forever and not going out into the world.

So in about another 20 years when this blows over, people will be getting incredibly ill from all these other viruses that they've lost immunity to, killing thousands if not millions of vulnerable people.

So yeah, let that sink in.

Things will get back to normal by the end of this year, I feel.

They keep on about a second wave of coronavirus when winter rolls around. I don't see how though, because so many people have already had the virus and so many people have probably had it without even knowing, so a lot of people will have the antibodies, and if they do get it again they might not be so ill (if they were the first time).

I’ve heard that we really won’t go back to completely normal until there’s a vaccine(which should be widely available in 2021)and that the antibodies sadly don’t provide 100% immunity.

I feel betrayed by those antibodies. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO MORE THAN THAT!! !! !

I agree with your train of thought.

I also think about how important human touch is and how it improves health and immunity.

I pray Kortie is right and we get back to normal relatively soon.

^ I agree with Blazingstar. Loneliness and isolation weaken the immune system and cause depression. It is a catch 22 situation.

For most people.

all you guys absolutely NEED to do is make sure no americans get into your country. we've messed up the world in plenty of ways already.

this is why my routine has not changed much whatsoever.

i wear a mask and avoid huge crowds (not that there are any, really. my island is full of old people) otherwise life goes on

covid is "deadly" in the same way that driving your own car down the street is "deadly".

Aren't people allowed to go on walks and do things outside, they just can't go in public and visit others unless it's necessary? Kids can still play outside, where they'll be exposed to bacteria and other microorganisms. I also don't think the heavy restrictions will last longer than the end of this year, at the most. People are overall starting to put this behind them (even if they really shouldn't be...) and are trying to figure out ways to get things back to normal while accommodating the situation. When I went to the store the other day it was packed again and barely anyone was wearing masks, and no one got in trouble.

Yes but people still aren't allowed near each other unless they live in the same house. So if you're prevented from getting COVID, you're also prevented from coming into contact with all the normal viruses.
