OUr federal government is doing nothing to combat the virus, its all left up to states now. But its not working no one seems to be able to comprehend having a mask if you are around people. But there is no enforcement at all and people keep wondering 'oh why hasn't the virus ended yet' and it takes all I can not to say...'because f*****g a**holes like you wont wear a f*****g mask when going into a store or getting on a bus' f**k you!. Because that is what I want to say, but I cannot say that at work.

I hear you, it’s the same here.I’ve called and complained to all my elected officials so on Monday I’m calling the local grocery store’s corporate office to try and get them to make it mandatory to enter.Their employees are wearing masks,so people entering the store should also be required to do so.

You can tell which business is ran by liberals. They require masks to be in there.

This virus is exposing who the conservative businesses are and liberal businesses and who the Trump supporters are.

For some reason, Colorado seems to attract a great many Libertarians. The notion that laws or executive orders requiring mandatory wearing of masks in a health emergency are morally objectionable is a typically Libertarian stance. There are many states and counties that have mandated mask wearing, not just in retail establishments but even "in public". A county adjoining the one in which I reside has just issued such an order.

I think we need to show less tolerance for Libertarians, they aren't "good guys" by any means.

I hear you, and it is really making me p'd off. This could seriously have been well over months ago if necessary precautions had been taken. Instead my country chose to do a mild lockdown, and have opened up everything way too early, and reducing distance from 2 meters to 1 is a joke.
Allowing travel without quarantine way too soon. This summer should have been spent at home.
And don't get me started on the eejits who don't uphold distance, won't wear masks even if it is the law, gather with way too many people and without mask or distance, like concerts, pubs, beaches, parks, demonstrations and parties.

It's my honest opinion that everyone who violates the pandemic laws should be put in jail for the remainder of the pandemic and it shall be on their permanent record, as they have put many others at risk with their recklessness. And it is also my honest opinion that if those who act like that get sick themselves with covid-19, they should not be hospitalized. They deserve no help and should take no resource or hospital place away from others who are doing our goddamned best to avoid this f*****g virus because we understand all too well how unlucky we can get if we contract it. It is 100% fair, unlike the monstrous treatment they have decided on some places, forbidding old people if younger crapholes need a space at the hospital. Eff that s! The young a**holes are the absolute worst at showing consideration, most likely to spread this crap, so let them go untreated instead! There was a real nice example here a while back, where a young health worker got a huge fine because he just had to go to a party. He should've been sacked on the spot.

A more feasible and poetically just approach would be to put them in a hotel, for 3 or 4 weeks, and supervise them while there (to ensure they don't violate the quarantine order) then stick them with a bill covering the full expense of the hotel room and the supervision.

Nobody is going to accept that approach on moral grounds, but I fully sympathize with the underlying feelings.

Hang in there. We'll get through this. No thanks to those Darwin Award contestants.

If you're really impatient, come to New England. Most people here have enough sense to wear a mask etc.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the libertarian-wannabe numbskulls don't mess up our ongoing phased reopening. If NY/NJ/New England could be a separate country and close the border, we could probably go back to something like normal soon.

because american'ts think not wearing a mask or generally not taking precautions is sign of rebellion and "sticking it to the man" (which is funny because this country has some of the biggest bootlickers on the planet)

so many of the people who ignore the guidelines are of the type to believe whatever garbage they read on echochamber groups on facebook instead of health experts or thinking for themselves, fearing the WHO is going to insert tracking nanobots in them through a vaccine or whatever fucing nonsense is in.

anyway i am thankful i live in liberal king county WA where people are still taking this seriously. being a literal island helps too.

Sympathy from another stupid country. Here it's more apathy than ideology. British people see politicians watering down the scientific advice and breaking the rules themselves. Instead of trying to be more sensible than the idiots that lead us, the general reaction has been "eh, whatever, it's all nonsense. Let's just do whatever the hell we want." While carefully ignoring the fact that we have the second or third worst death rate on the planet. The only place I've seen anyone else wearing a mask is on the buses, because it's actually illegal not to. They happily wander round the shops coughing with their mouths wide open. No-one does the right thing because it's sensible and responsible. They only do the right thing when they think they might be punished otherwise.

Masks are required in all businesses in Texas, in counties with at least 20 confirmed cases. But some counties aren't enforcing them, including Montgomery County (north of Houston, population 600,000, with 4,000 confirmed cases--far more than 20).

Add stupid crap like "COVID parties", and welcome to Lockdown 2.0. Our governor, Greg Abbott, is threatening another lockdown, all because people (mostly younger) think they're invincible, and that the CDC is a bunch of fun-hating buzzkills.

If anyone can get John Oliver on HBO, last week’s show had clips of some of the Darwin contestants out in full force at the Broward County commissioners meeting. Florida of course. One of the highest rates of infection and spread. But these patriots aren’t about to cover their faces for no stinking public health emergency.
