This year has been the worst year of my life. I had big plans to find a job and travel this year. I can't do those things because of Covid-19. I also had to put my job search on the back burner because my knee pain flared up. I got to thinking that I can sell Covid as there were during the first lock down. We need to wear a mask everywhere. I look like one of The Kinks, but people will never know when I've lost a great deal of weight in the Spring, because I'll still have to wear a ruddy mask. I bet that we will still be in lock down in the spring when I want to start selling my hand painted birdhouses and loom knitted Easter eggs at the flea market. I might as well scratch that off my list. I didn't get to spend a Saturday and spend the night with my parents for 6 months because of Covid. They also replaced The Monkees with Mama's Family on Me TV, so I couldn't rely on being able to see them in action to get me through this Covid infested year. Christmas is coming up. That will be the only thing that I'm going to like about this year, whether I will be able to be with my family or not. Fracking Shiest!

Yep, those things suck. Gonna be another ~4 months until Canadians get covid vaccines and we can get back to normal-ish.

Focusing on the positive: What sort of job are you planning on seeking?

Walmart greeter has been on my mind.

Now would probably be a good time to apply for that - people doing Christmas shopping etc.

But not sure if the whole store is open or only grocery/cleaning supplies/pharmacy - some Walmart’s have their clothing & other sections closed as it’s supposed to be essential shopping by one member of each household only right now.

But still, now would probably be a better time to apply than a month or two from now. Retail & restaurants tend to be dead every January & February while people pay off their holiday spending bills.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad year. I think goldfish is right. Now is a good time to apply to the big box stores. Better chance of being hired. Good luck.

And hugs for the bad year.

I'll start applying. I hope next year is better.

I think we all are hoping that next year is better; this year has not been a good one.
