Been having throbbing jabs of pain in my liver. It has been like that since the spring I'd say. The pain is getting more intense now. Not unbearable yet, just causes discomfort and doesn't feel right. I get tired pretty easy lately. Got a swollen foot/ankle/lower leg too. Been like that since the summer. Also have a dry itchy cough for the past three years that doesn't seem to be going away. Should have got that checked out right away but my common sense sucks. I have been drinking while on antipsychotic medication for three years now. Mostly occasionally. No one from mental health told me I shouldn't drink while on antipsychotic medication. I don't even remember my doctor telling me not to drink while on antipsychotic medication. And he knew I was drinking occasionally while I was on the stuff. I have a doctors appointment in early November, but it's a phone appointment. I should have gotten my blood work over with already, but because of Covid, I'm not even sure how to get it done these days. I called the receptionist at the medical office about it and she was supposed to call me back on Friday, but she never did.

It sucks that I didn't have the common sense to not drink while on antipsychotic medication. Even the side effects sheet that my psychiatrist gave me said keep drinking to a minimum. I don't wanna die.

Call the receptionist back again talk to doctors nurse.. Follow up on these blood tests it’s important .. I have been through a number of eaves duty medications over the years . Stuff that is toxic to the liver and kidneys ,
Please do not play around with these tests. Your doctor and nurses can’t do it for you , they will only schedule you for testing if you show a interest in preserving your own life .

This is scary. I'll call back as soon as they're open tomorrow.

Tried reaching out to my aunt, who is a nurse. She's worked at the hospital for probably 40 years. Thought maybe she could talk to me about it but I messaged her on facebook and she never responded and then went off facebook. She probably doesn't want me bugging her all the time about my health problems. That's understandable but if I'm getting pain in the liver that's quite serious.

Mom thinks it's my gallbladder. Both my parents had to have theirs out. I quit drinking recently. It was getting boring after a while anyway.

Apple cider ( non alcoholic ). And un sweetened. Cranberry juice can help flush out , those internal organs ,
I mix both of them , cause straight un sweetened cranberry juice can be pretty bitter. Several times a day for about a week .

Thanks. Just read about what it's like to have a gallbladder attack. It seems like the symptoms I'm having are when something is wrong with your liver.

Probably better to wait for blood test results , before trying to worry yourself too very much , but it is also , smart that you educate yourself on symptoms .

Might even consider alittle self massage over those areas that are bothering ... this helps in flushing stuff outta the organs that maybe causing you grief ..... just a thought .

Okay thanks Jakki. You've relieved some of my worrying. I'll take the advice you've given me. Do you think a shot of apple cider vinegar would work as good as just plain apple cider? I have cranberry juice at home. None at my parents place right now where I visiting though. But they have apple cider vinegar.

I don’t see why not , but that is Probably gonna cause your tongue to shrivel up ..lolz . Better have a. Glass of water to clear the taste outta your mouth or mix it with water . To dilute it .
Cranberry juice needs to be unsweetened type . Knudsen is the brand of cranberry juice I use , FYI

Uhh my post didn't post...but basically I was saying you should see a doctor about it, just to make sure its not something really bad and so if you need further treatment they can let you know.

but for the meantime if you are worried the alcohol consumption on your meds is part of it, maybe avoid alcohol altogether till you find out what exactly it is going on.

I think the apple cider vinegar would be fine, honestly I don't know for sure but I almost would figure the apple cider vinegar could be more beneficial than just apple cider. But yeah I am not sure.

Is the white in your eyes and the regions around your eyes looking very yellowish? Would be a sign of problems with your liver. Quit drinking alcohol immediately. Try to reduce weight by walking if you are to heavy and let a doc check the liver values of your blood as well as the problems that your meds may cause.

I had my gallbladder removed a month ago. There were around 100 gallstones in the gallbladder. Collectively they were the size of a golf ball. The surgeon said I was lucky. Many times when the gallbladder fails it will fuse with the liver and cancer sets in.

And you are pushing up daisies.

But they caught it soon enough in my case. Whatever the problem is, have it checked out by your doctor. They can run tests (blood test, ultrasound, and CT Scan) and figure out if this is the problem and whether surgery is called for.

I haven't turned yellow yet. Unfortunately my medication causes significant weight gain. I exercise everyday though. But very slowly keep gaining weight.
