Is it normal to question reality?

For as long as I can remember, I've been questioning reality, because there have been many times that I do something in the physical realm, but people who watched me do it say that I didn't do it. This has been going on with a lot of people. For example, I might wash my hands but then the person who is directly behind me say I didn't. Another example is that if I play sport, people always tell me that I should stop standing still, even though I am running. I just wonder if I do something physically from my perspective, how does it translate in reality? How do I know what I'm actually doing in reality? Does anybody else have this issue?

It's possible a dissociated state. You are sure you are doing something, but then others do not observe the same behavior. It's also possible that you have a form of epilepsy.

I am epileptic, and even a micro-seizure in my case can result in a bad outcome in the reality I am perceiving.

I was going to suggest some kind of dissociation too. I still have bouts of derealization and depersonalization, but I used to blank stuff out, not know if I actually did something or just thought I did.

Either that or the people around you are jerks just messing with you. I dunno.

With some things you can try reality testing. Like with the hand washing, a reality check could be to smell your hands. Do they smell like soap, feel wet still, do you have a paper towel you used that is wet...things like that. Then you know. Other things like the running, maybe check your heart rate. Unless really physically fit, most people have an increase in heart rate after running. Check your pulse next time, or just put your hand on your heart. Check your breathing, is it faster than normal?

Anyway it goes, sorry you have to deal with this. It's no fun.
