On December 8th, my sister in law had found her father on the floor not breathing so she took him to the hospital than calling 911. He is on Medicare so they pay for the ambulance and she has done other stuff that was stupid and this was one of them.

They got his heart going and he was then on life support and then a couple days ago it became official he is brain dead so today he was officially taken off life support after everyone said good bye to him. My husband didn't because he didn't want to see him that way and have it be his last memory of him. We saw him last Sunday so he was perfectly fine and then two days later, bam.

He had a bad heart condition and he drank and smoked. He has even had heart attacks and the doctors think his heart just failed, it quit, it gave out and stopped working so he passed out and died.

My husband is very upset so I had to come home from Christmas shopping because someone had to be here to watch the kids.

Um, she did not call 911?
She called an ambulance instead?
While he was not breathing?
Maybe I misunderstood?
This all sounds like you have been through an awful time; I am so sorry for how hard this must be for you

No she did not call 911, she took him to the hospital instead in a car she has. He was not breathing and they got his heart going again.

I am doing fine, I just have to be supportive of my husband and be stricter with our kids so they don't test their limits on us and I come home to a messy home again because my husband was too depressed to do anything.

Uhm , if he was not breathing , ? How did she get him into the car ? Am sorry but I don’t know what to think of his wife . Just made no sense not to call 911 .

My mom also wonders how she got him out to the car as well and wondered why wasn't 911 called. She thinks maybe she panicked and didn't think straight.

She also has brain damage from when she was 6-7 so I don't know if this contributed to her choice here. I know most people would call 911 but I also know most people would try and take someone to the hospital to avoid a big medical bill. It can cost thousands just for a ride in the ambulance. But Medicare covers ambulance so they wouldn't even be billed for it if she had called 911.

This is the US where our healthcare system is messed up.

Depends. Here where I live I can reach a hospital far quicker then an ambulance could even get here, but the problem is, if I take someone to hospital they could be waiting hours, but if they get an ambulance they usually take them in straight away.
But calling ambulances can be a problem here. Just before my grandmother died she was in a care home and the carehome dialled 999, and it took 24 hours for the ambulance to arrive due to issues with the ambulance crew, and it was only a 2 mile journey!
But looking back we can always say "What if ?" but there is an appointed time God calls us. I have known people whos lives were saved only to die a day or a week after despite all seeming ok.
So do not let the "What ifs ?" worry you and be assured that God is in charge and all is ok.
Yes we will miss them, but it is only temporary. We will see them again one day, God willing!

Sounds like this has been such a burden for you.
I am sorry that you and your husband are hurting so much from the loss.
Perhaps his father would have had poor health and discomfort if his life had been longer.
Sounds like his daughter might not have been able to care for him if he was seriously ill and dependent.
