Sorry to hear, Boo. Though the virus has been devastating to those over 80, many are surviving. Hope they receive good care throughout.

Some reading on those who are older and have conditions placing them at greater risk ...

Anna Marie Bresnan, who lives at Philadelphia Protestant Home, a retirement community in Northeast Philadelphia, is 84 and has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Hydration and sleeping position are important.

John and Kitty Stagliano, of Exton, are both 82 and have diabetes and high blood pressure.

Norma Cammisa is 93, has dementia, takes medicine for high cholesterol, and lives in a nursing home in Collingswood.

All of them caught the coronavirus. All of them survived.

Tell them to try to sleep on their stomachs if they have trouble breathing.

I hope they just have a mild case, and recover quickly.

Like Juliette said, even many older people only get mild cases of COVID.

Are you in touch with your dad and sister via Skype or some other media?

Yes we are apart in different apartments now.

I tested “closely positive” - I got a 36 which is very close to the lower end of what’s considered negative. Sister and dad had it under 20; I suspect each caught it from a different source.

The lab worker was puzzled; she asked me whether I had covid or not before - told her no and no symptoms at all; because this result is as if someone just recovered from it... or I still have it in the very beginning. I hope it is the former; so far I have no symptoms at all*.

*Except yesterday night I felt a freezing chill lasted for 10 mins; but my temp showed very low as 36.4 then back to 37. This chilling usually is indicative of temp is going up, for fever; but it didn’t so far. Surely it must be the covid tho.

For us, either you’re positive, or you’re negative. No in-between. We have no “numbers.” Any SARS 2 virus—-positive!

I had COVID. Never had a positive test, but was positive for antibodies in May.

I hope you don’t develop symptoms. I had somewhat mild symptoms.
