I dared to speak out against Trump on FB and now my Trump supprting relatives have started with the verbal abuse... Do I need to block family members?

If they're being abusive you may need to.

Incredibly I asked why he supports a man that said "Grab her by the p****" and hes defending Trump and said all men are like that....

I leave politics out of my Facebook as much as possible for this reason ....

As a man I'm insulted that he thinks we're all like that.

Yes, he defended it like that, that all men say things like that to other men... Sad isn't it?

It's sad that he believes it. I've never gotten why someone would internalize the worst stereotypes aimed at them.

Personally, i try and stay away from FB.
I waste enough time in life as it is, although i understand that some get a lot of enjoyment out of FB,
and FB can be used positively, such as in networking.

Not being on FB does make me feel like I am out of the loop some times.
Although a great deal of the time, I prefer to be out of the loop, and instead of spending my time
on passive entertainment, I try and spend what little time i am awake (i have a sleep disorder)
doing something that benefits me, such as research or working on music projects.

As the old saying goes, if you want to get on with people try and stay away from topics such as religion or politics, as these are both subjects that people have extremely strong opinions on and seldom agree with others, including their best friends and family.

If you need to reply to them further tell them they're being unreasonable for supporting an attempted coup and that you're not interested in whatever whining and belligerence they wish to express because of your criticism of said coup.

no, there is no reason to fight about politics with family members, or anyone. did you vote? that is enough.

I couldn't vote because I had Covid-lije symptoms that say, should have done mail-in....

just don't talk about politics with them or post anything.. be kind to other people even if they are wrong about politics, that means don't contradict them as it is painful for them to hear contradicting information.

What Trump did was absolutely disgraceful. And I hope he is prosecuted for it.

also the Democrats have done some bad things such arresting innocent people and jailing innocent people too, they've had their sexual harassment allegations, allowed warrantless wiretapping, issued fake and overblown citations to people who live in Democratic run states, etc. so the Trump people have a point about being anti-democrat
