Life expectancy in the US has decreased in recent years and is the lowest in the developed world.

But it's still pretty darn high.....women still live to be over 80, men still live to be over 75.

I refuse to live my life based on statistics.....

Chris Latta, best known for voicing Cobra Commander and Starscream, died at 44. That's only 5 years older than me.

What has that got to do with you?

Roger Mudd, famous journalist, just died at age 93.

People die all the time.....at all ages.

You have to be proactive about your health. I've only started to be proactive----because I have to be now.

I need to be physically active and get exercise. But where will I find the time for while I'm working a full-time job and attending grad school?

I work a full-time job and a part-time job. Both of them are rather simple, robotic jobs---but they're jobs.

I still find time to walk for at least a couple of hours a day.

You're doing excellent working a full-time job and going to Grad school.

I used to go to undergrad part-time, while working a full-time job.

Experts say that if you do moderate exercise for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, that you're doing a pretty healthy thing.

Walking at a 3 mph pace would probably be a "moderate" sort of exercise for you.

I don't know how well I'm doing. I've gotten behind, and I'm afraid of failing grad school.

Start small and build up your exercise program.
Last year, I started by walking only 15 minutes a day and reached a peak of 2 hrs in a short time.
Do what you can.
It all helps.
Even 15 minutes a day is good for someone who weighs 300lbs.

Also, calorie count.
I lost an average of 1 kg a week with moderate exercise and watching what I ate.

I recommend the 5x2 diet.
Eat normally 5 days a week while fasting 2 days a week.

The most important thing to consider is working on your thinking.
Without a 'proper' mindset, you won't succeed.
This is coming from experience.

Now that the kooler weather is here, I intend to exercise more with the intention of losing another 6kgs. 8)

With this new information, I suggest you totally focus on your grad studies.
The weight loss can wait a little longer. 8)

Personally, I don't see any sense in fearing death where you couldn't have predicted it would happen. There's nothing substantiating the notion that it will happen, and if it does, you'll be too dead to care at that point.

If you're worried about underlying health issues that might contribute to an early death, being vigilant about health check-ups and working towards achieving a healthier lifestyle are your best bet.
