I learned today the speed dating event has been cancelled and there are no plans to reschedule it. :( I have no reason to stay here anymore. I won’t be able to post a success story and there are no other avenues for me.

I told you not to put all your eggs in one basket. Other people have told you that, too.

I don't have a high opinion of "speed dating," anyway.

You have all these guys who want to teach you martial arts. You must appeal to some people, including women.

I wish some of those guys could introduce you to someone.

It’s only one person and you’d think he would know someone considering his background plus all the jobs he does but he apparently doesn’t know anyone despite that.

Sir Kraftie is right, Brother Marknis.

You can't expect happiness at the snap of a finger.

Like Sir Kraftie, I also don't have a high opinion of "speed dating."

Why do you think I was expecting it to be a snap? I expected it to be a challenge.

It at least would’ve guaranteed an actual conversation. Online dating often left me in the dark.

Are the concert venues and bars opening up in Austin?

We have some things opening up even in NYC.

They still aren’t. It doesn’t matter anyway since I’ve lost my incentive to stay here.

How much would you have had to pay for the speed dating that was cancelled?

It would’ve cost $25 at the door. I have that money still on my bed stand. It would’ve been cheaper than any dating site or agency.

I saw some "virtual speed dating" events in Austin which "start at $26.95."

I tried the Austin one Isabella sent to me that was free but it didn’t work out.

Oh nooo! I'm sorry to hear that. I know you had your heart set on the speed dating.

It's probably due to this sh***y pandemic that is stopping everybody from living our lives.

What are your plans now, Marknis?

Thank you, Joe. I was hoping I could say my destiny wasn’t set in stone and that I have hope after all. But time and time again has shown the only thing in my destiny is suffering and I have no hope at all.

All potential plans have been destroyed before they could even happen. I didn’t get a new job, I didn’t get called back for volunteering at the museum, and now an avenue to potentially find love has been denied to me once again. I have nothing to live for.
