Weekends, phone calls, screaming brain

Everyone wants to phone at weekends now. Which is great, it's nice to talk. But. Weekends are when I collapse into this disoriented mess who can barely get his screaming brain to shut up long enough to open a tin of soup for lunch. ANd even a good phone conversation leaves me even more manic and confused. Don't have time to talk in the week, at. all.

Take one weekend phone call (if you feel like it) and then turn the phone off. Easy peasy.

I'll phone you later tonight and we can talk about it.

Sorry that's happening. I had the same issue with a friend who insisted that all our conversations be on the phone, instead of text or IM. She was quite insistent that her need to speak was equal to my my need for quiet.

We aren't friends anymore.

I hope you can turn your phone off!

It has to be up there with the greatest annoying inventions in history. In my case it normally rings right when Dad and I are trying to sort something out or more often at meal times which drives me up the expletive deleted wall.

On one occasion the bank called me while I was eating wanting to do a survey of how they'd done (I'd done a bank transfer a couple of days before) and the poor caller got an earful for calling at lunch time!

Well, I kind of blew everyone off this weekend. Don't want to do that all the time though- I don't actually want to be a hermit.

Scammers usually call during the weekends and my mom hates it so much!

She says whenever someone calls on a Sunday, "Such people don't understand Sunday is The Day of The Lord!"

My NT sister always intervenes by saying, "To such people, it's just another day to them!"
