I was asked by my dad to meet them at a restaurant tomorrow with grandparents despite me feeling quite uncomfortable about going especially if there is a lot of people around in there. A part of me doesn't want to go again because I mean I didn't go to see my dad in early December due to the emergence of Omicron and he understood why I didn't go and I still saw him and family over Christmas but I'm feeling frustrated thinking when will I ever be comfortable being out socially again around I don't know. I don't think to myself that this is getting silly, I don't want to be living quite like a hermit despite Omicron in circulation despite the fact its milder than other variants (unless you are not vaccinated) and the UK has over 50 million out of 66 million people vaccinated. Yet this fear and assumption that Omicron is as deadly as the Bubonic Plague persists which doesn't help.

It's hard. Peronally, I still am not comfortable in crowded indoor settings and have had a few people I know get very ill due to Covid recently. One is only 38. So, the threat is still there. All any of can do is assess our own personal risk factors and do the best we can. Hopefully you can figure out what's best for you without feeling pressured by others or comparing yourself to them too much. We're all different in the level of risk we feel comfortable with taking.

Can you set a time when the restaurant is not busy? If I want to eat out but not be with a ton of people, I'll go early in the afternoon around 3:00 on a weekday.

I managed to go into that restaurant last night and it was less busy in there as it was a Sunday and I feel quite pleased that I went in.

I'm glad you did it, Chris.
