I have been hospitalized three times since December 29th.
E.R., SICU,two different observation floors.
Every test I ever heard of; I’m home, limited activity, SIX pills a day!

I have worked full time at my job for over ten years.
I got ONE call from a co-worker, no get well card at all, no good wishes on email.
I am surprised how much that hurts.

Story of my life. When ever I got sick, no one bothered visiting me at home or in the hospital. Last time I was in the hospital, 7 years ago, I had exactly 3 people visit me while in ICU, and only my pastor after I came home. Ditto when I gave up driving.

BTW, I don't give <hugs> to just anyone.
Consider yourself very lucky if one comes your way. 8)

I’d rather have a gift card. Then I would go to the nursery and buy roses to plant.
I tend to bite when hugged anyway.

I’m sorry.

Yeah, I go through this and similar from time to time.

I know at last work places, whenever I leave, people say “I wish you the best” but there wouldn’t be much emotion behind it. Some indifference. Not nearly as enthusiastic as other people leaving. I bet if I were hospitalized, I would get nothing.

I find my own very significant peace and self love. That is really how I get by most of the time…

It sucks when you think you're on good terms with people, then something happens and you realize they couldn't care less about you. One way (that's not ideal, but works) is to set your expectations really low. At least you won't get disappointed if nobody shows up, and pleasantly surprised if somebody does.

Regardless, you have people in this community (including me) who care about you and your hardships. Wishing the best.

I am sorry. I wish we didn't have the need to connect with people sometimes. I am here for you if you want to talk and hope that you get well soon.
