I am so tired of sociopaths running this world and ruining everything. I know these are divisive comments and generalizing, so let me be clear: this is just a rant. I feel like my entire life has been about bending to the nonsensical whims of the bullies in this world. I have slowly been getting to know more neurodiverse individuals and it makes me wonder why we all haven't started to build our own mini-communities within this world outside of the internet. If someone isn't neurodiverse, should they have the majority of the say in how a neurodiverse individual's world should be dictated?

At least you can defend yourself whenever these "sociopaths" try to bully you :)

But seriously.....I can relate to what you say. And I'm aware that it's just a rant-----but don't let the "sociopaths" gain a victory by allowing your anger to keep you down.

Take from the "greater world" what benefits you. And add in the neurodiverse "spice"---so you can become a well-rounded Renaissance person.

I think I understood your reference now. The physical protection aspect yes, the rest, not so much.

Thank you for that reminder. Can't let them win. Starting to figure out my own way to fit in sounds like it makes the most sense. Just happy to finally be integrating myself into the neurodiverse community instead of chasing after the things that I know mean nothing to me.

Thank you.

These statements resonate with me a lot. I've always been frustrated by the fact that people who have never experienced life from my perspective believe that they are entitled to dictate how I should think, feel, and act, just because my brain is wired a bit differently than theirs.

It's worse when other autistic people play into that line of thinking and put down others for daring to put their own needs first, instead of constantly wasting energy on making sure that everyone else around them is "comfortable" and not "burdened" by the existence of the person with ASD.

It's complete BS that we're taught from an early age that our needs and experiences don't matter, and that we need to relent to a world full of selfish people who can't even bother to take one second to think about what the life of someone other than themselves is truly like.
