I have been at a convention all weekend and I happened to run into a familiar face, who I had not seen in three years. I happened to call him by his regular name instead of his badge name because I forgot it.
Instead of saying hi to me, he got mad because I said his regular name.

“That’s not my name, it’s my badge name” before pretending he didn’t know or remember me.

Though I understand he is probably tired, it hurt my feelings.

That's very strange, almost sociopathic. Hope you feel better

'...before pretending he didn’t know or remember me.'

Idiot. Don't give him any more of your time.

I’m sorry that happened. For me, just initiating a conversation is stressful enough. Then to have it come back like a slap in the face!

Not your fault. He was a jerk.

He’s never pretended not to know me at cons in years past. Rather, he’s been happier to see me. On the other hand, I have found myself tip-toeing around him as well.

For example, he on the spectrum himself and doesn’t like to talk about being on the spectrum.

I would not classify him as a sociopath, rather I think that was more arrogant.

As for talking to him again, I just ignored and avoided him earlier today after that.
