I think I've lost a friend.

I have a feeling that I might have lost one of my two closest friends. Barb was irritated at me and she claimed that I always cry which I don't always do. I do, sometimes. Her son is always getting angry at her and telling her not to let me in her apartment. If that's the case, maybe she should just ghost me so I won't have any hurt feelings.

Is it possible the son is jealous of your friendship and wants his mom for himself?

The son's feelings are irrelevant.

It's your friend's feelings that are most important.

Emotions are a hot topic for me and I wish I could express them the Canadian or British way which means no crying. There are times that I self-medicate with coffee so I can express my feelings the North American way. Getting high so I don't cry. I do it for her.

I cry 4 times a month. What a crime. I usually work on my hobbies non-stop to dull my emotions so nobody in the public eye knows I have them except for joy and maybe anger when necessary. My mum raised me the British Canadian way to have a stiff upper lip. The rest of my family have upper lips that are so stiff that a person couldn't move those lips with their fingers if their life depended on it.

I didn't lose Barb as a friend after all, by the way. The only people who are to know about my true nature are the people on WP. I have no problems with you on WP knowing how sensitive I am. I have no qualms about my brothers and sisters on WP knowing about my unstable Germanic emotions. You're more of a family to me than the stoics in my real family. Even my 13 year old niece is like the rest of them. It drives me bananas.

Too bad I can't change the title of this thread to "I hate my family because they're able to be so tough and calm."

Glad you didn't lose your friend :)

Does she have full "sweet-pea" status?

I think she's a little Sweetlet most of the time.

I don't really hate my family. I have a bad habit of comparing myself to people and my family are the people that I compare myself to the most. My two older male cousins and my little sister got the tough, British end of the stick and I took after the genteel Germans.

I wish that my mum would have taken me to a shrink when I was 9, instead of sending me to my room every time I cried.

I'm feeling better about myself this week. I'm feeling more accepting of certain quirks and emotions that I have.

I long to travel back to my college days. I had the spirit of a Cockney and a stiff upper lip. Everybody in my work experience programme had their own little personalities. Dion was the hippie, I was the cheeky Cockney, Bryan was the big German who cried easily, Nancy was the mother figure who made sure that Bryan was okay, David was the proper Englishman, Michelle was the farmer, Amy was the long-lost friend, Desire was the proper Englishwoman and Sean was the romantic - think Lewi LeBeau.

It's funny how scripts and people rearrange with time.
