i miss being depressed. i miss being moody , i miss having schizctopal traits. i miss being paranoid.
i miss adhd. i miss ocd

all those thing were actual strengths for me and were actually enjoyable. those things helped make me unique.

i actually want my negatives back as well as my positves.

does this make me wierd?

No, I don't think so.

change is scary
when you are used to the new you you will be happy to be you....

you can still cultivate an air os eccentricity within the bounds of sanity to make yourself feel more special and unique

I'm going through the same thing. Back in 2004, prior to being diagnosed, I took Lexapro for six months due to anxiety & depression. It seems to have helped my anxiety problem permanently, but unfortunately it made my mood as flat as a pancake and it's never really gone back to normal. I've been on Ritalin for over a year for ADHD, and it helps me feel calmer and more focused. But lately I miss the old days from 10 or 12 years ago, when I was in my own world...completely immersed in Russian literature, Balkan history, and Krzysztof Kieslowski films...high on my own isolation. I interacted with others on the surface, but no one really affected me, not even my husband. But now I feel like I'm floating in limbo - my fixations have lost their luster or faded altogether; I've become socially paranoid due to my newfound awareness of how "off" I've always seemed to others; and now that I finally have the ability to mentally focus...I have nothing interesting or rewarding to focus on. And the ultimate irony is I can tell that my husband misses my old self, my old crazy, hyperactive self...the self I always thought displeased him so. And now she's gone. Just stopping the Ritalin won't bring her back. I think the Lexapro pretty much killed her off, and now I've taken her place...sort of an older, slower and duller version of the quirky girl he married. So yeah, even when I was in bad shape, at least I felt alive and not just like a seat-filler. Life was more gothic and romantic when I just felt isolated...before I found out that I really was. I'm not happy with the new "me" yet, and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be.

No, it doesn't make you weird. I have depression, OCD, AS, GAD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, irlen syndrome and mild visual impairment and although these things, both separately and in combination can have negative effects, they also have positive effects which I would never want to be without.

I feel like I have a 'bigger' life than people with no neurological or mental 'quirks' because I experience things and understand things and think of things that they NEVER will.

So for me the positives far outweigh the negatives.
