Just don’t know which way to go now. Feeling confused sometimes and numb sometimes and self-destructive sometimes. Next week is last week I think.

You have another new experience to add to your CV. All is not lost. Need to turn it to a positive experience.

I'm sorry to hear this.

You "do" computers. You are likely to come out well after a brief disruption to your routine.

Are these worth mentioning? 06 Feb 2023 & 03 Mar 2023.

I dropped a email to
[email protected]
So far no reply.

Infodumping was one thing I got in trouble with. Apparently some people inside of the company are "customers" and you can insult them by sharing too many facts. This called "lecturing". Insulting the "customers" is apparently a very bad thing - though I am not quite sure about the exact rules of etiquette for this.

I am also "not ramping up fast enough" which probably is caused by social anxiety (I hesitate to ask questions and like to "hide" when no-one is asking me questions). Plus I am one of those people who feels like he knows nothing about a subject unless he knows everything about a subject, so I spend days taking notes and looking up docs for a 1 hour "quick screen share". Sometimes I freak out and spend time researching things not work related to try to calm myself down, or read up on psychology, autism, adhd, etiquette (etc) - which is kind of work related - when others would be "do-ing".

I am also a bit long in the tooth.

Attention to detail is a good thing and common on the spectrum.

They shouldn't mind the sharing of info. Those who really want to will read it and perhaps find it interesting while others can choose to ignore such and not bother to read them.

You sound like someone who would be right at home researching facts and providing articles about interesting topics. These are quite numerous online. I learn so much from clicking on lesser known stuff I hadn't previously heard about.

The use of quotes around “customers”, “lecturing” and “not ramping up fast enough” suggest you don’t take the validity of such criticisms as seriously as maybe you should.

Unfortunately, in a new job and especially at your age, it’s your responsibility to fit in.

^ the main reason I used quotes was to quote someone else’s words, not to question the validity of the words.

As to fitting in - it can be hard to fit in when you are unclear on the rules.

I agree that finding a way to fit in a new job and new environment is important. I will think more about the best way to do this.

This is same as asking someone to swim the channel that is paraplegic.

It’s exactly like that! If the paraplegic represented that he had significant experience in swimming the Channel, requested that he be given the opportunity to swim the Channel, and his employer is paying him to swim the Channel.

In this example, he is given the needed supports for swimming the channel (Unless that is not what you intended). We often don't get that in the workplace. If you are not formally dx'd, good luck (And I can only speak about my experience in the states. I don't have experience with elsewhere. Please share if you wish).
