My experience is limited to Celexa but so many people on this board have tried every antidepressant in every category there is, as I saw in my "best antidepressant drug" thread. All 5 people who voted said the SSRI, I believe, which sort of comforts me. :) Now which SSRI? And many people who have tried two can compare them, saying which one is better than the other and all that.

EDIT: We should be allowed more poll options!

I've been on citalopram (Celexa) and sertraline (Zoloft). I didn't notice any effect on Celexa, but I've had some success with Zoloft. I have PMDD (PMS gone crazy) and the Zoloft helps during that one week before I start (sorry if that's TMI) to not have a melt down or go berzerk (this was mistaken for bipolar in the past). I've also noticed a bit less anxiety in social situations which have always plagued me, and fewer panic attacks. Granted, some of this could also be due to better therapy, and better understanding of myself and how to deal with stressful situations.

A lot of anti-depressants that I took lowered my sex drive and had other bad sexual side effects so it just made me more depressed
However with my friendly cigarette I can feel better and still have good orgasms :D
But deep down no matter what you use, the depression will always be there until you fill the empty spaces... Its nearly... Impossible

I know someone whom Celexa also didn't work for; he was switched to Wellbutrin. Someone else here in another thread also said that Celexa didn't work for him... I think the shrinks start with something mild and work their way up... Prozac seems to be the best, and it seems like they save it for the post traumatic stress cases... because in their experience those cases are usually worse.

I found that Celexa gave me more sex drive... but in a positive way, not a desperate negative way.
