I have a love hate relationship with to-do lists. On the one hand, they are a great way of keeping track of what I have to do. On the other, when I see all the tasks, I no longer want to do any of them. Even the small ones, since I know that will lead me to have to do the rest.

It's not easy. There's definitely a feeling of placing a carrot on a string. Oh, if I do this then I get to have a reward such as a song or I get to play animal crossing.

There's no natural flow to it. No habit. But how do you make a habit? One that feels natural and not constantly rehearsed. How do you remember all the tasks? The laundry, making time to properly prepare food, watering the plants. How do you structure them in to your day so they aren't big intimidating tasks?

How do I make both sides of my personality content - the one who wants to live in chaos / spontaneous behaviour and the other that longs for structure? How do I stop them from constantly fighting?

I wonder about this a lot.

Great book on how to break unwanted habits and create useful ones.

My to-do lists tend to become should-really-have-done-by-now lists.
