So my mom, stepdad, and grandparents are the ones who researched AS and told me that they thought it was a possibility for me. They're super supportive. However, whenever I tell my close friends or other family members (I told my dad today), I get the same response: "Oh, I've felt like that all my life! Maybe I have it too!" NO. I recognize that I'm not the only one in the world with AS, but honestly I've never thought that any of them feel like I do or even know everything I feel. It seems like I've been totally miserable my whole life, why would they want to be like that too? It makes me so angry.

Does anyone else get this response? And if you do, how do you deal with it?

I think its a type of denial. Just remember your friends already like you just as you are.

AS can run in families. You should feel happy you aren't the only one in your family. As for your friends, you should feel better about yourself too and there is nothing wrong with you. Everyone has their own problems.
