This past Saturday, I happened to cross paths with a lady who I went to my old synagogue.
Long story short, the environment at the other synagogue was toxic. The people there were cold.
One of the families who I used to see left and they are visiting our congregation. I used to get along well with the wife. While she was friendly enough and Higgs me, she put up a wall.
1. She didn’t volunteer any information
2. She didn’t really seem interested in me either.
Her husband was also really cold
When I got away from them, I felt empty.
However, her whole family didn’t seem like they wanted to be at our congregation. When I observed, none of them smiled.
