As I have been going through life, there are lots of things that I looked forward to doing. However, I feel like life has really let me down in a lot of ways.

I really wanted..
1. A great relationship with both of my parents- However, my parents had problems of their own. Then they also seemed to chose the middle child over me.
2. To be life long friends with a friend from childhood- She got older and lost her interest in me
3. To drive a car- No one has seemed intersted in helping me
4. A career in psychology but I am stuck working as a receptionist right now
5. A relationship with my family - They have either stigmatized me or left me at the bottom of their list

I am tired of being overlooked and let down by other people. I am also tired of them never getting why I am frustrated about not getting to do some of the same opportunities that I listed above. If I tell them that I want more it's "Well you do such a good job with..." then they wonder why in the world why I get so upset.

I feel like I have to put on a brave face.

I know what you mean
And none of those things look like they're too much to ask for either

I'm sorry you've not been able to find the help you need to be able to achieve these things

Hi Baby Bird:

The one where I get discouraged a lot is driving a car and I am tired of it. I also have seemed to get the responses about being a receptionist. Yet, no one at work has seemed to care what I feel or what I really want. I want to be a psychologist and I want to teach. Yet, I have seen some other autistic and neurodivergent people ahead of me.
