Feeling like I need be more grown up than I am
I feel like I "should" be acting much more adult-like than I actually am as though I am a man with lots of responsibilities by this stage like children, a house, a car, and so on and I've got none except a car and still living at home. I hear time and again about how there is probably a lot of 30 to 34 year olds who might be in the same boat as me but it still doesn't reassure me because I don't see these people or know what's going on in their lives, I still feel like the odd one out.
I really cannot understand these feelings I have, it's just ridiculous. It's as though I'm acting as if it's the world is ending or nearing the end of life. I'm sick of feeling this way and maybe I am just being too harsh on myself.
I personally like being childish and goofy. But I definitely understand where you're coming from. I often compare myself with others in the same age bracket that already where I feel like I should be. Maybe it will take us take to get used to the fact that we aren't like everyone else. I say maybe because being our 30s we should be used to it and accepting of it by now. But just the fact that we aren't like others means that will take longer to accept it. You may not physically be around people in the same boat, but being here on this forum should still help you not feel so alone about it.
