Loneliness

I spend most days stuck in this room with no daylight and no one to talk to.

If that is not lonely enough, I also live with my Mother (whom I despise), and (as I've mentioned in other threads) is retired now. That means she is here all day every day too, and that means even getting a simple cup of coffee a major challenge as I have to prepare myself to encounter her. The loneliness is just barely tolerable when she is not here, but being stuck with someone I don't like just emphasises the loneliness.

I don't go out much any more as I always dread coming home.

I've had a whopping 2 social occasions this month. On Saturday I bumped into a couple of people I know, and I went to a monthly politics group a couple of weeks ago.

I'm sorry you're going through that. Although to be honest, and not to minimize your loneliness, but two social occasions a month is not too bad.

Still, I can feel how hard it is on you.

Well, its half way through January 2025. I think I've had two days where I've spoken to other people since the start of December.

Yeah that's sucks man

It is sheer hell to have to live with a person you despise and having to confine yourself to a small area to avoid them

Try and find some other outlet for yourself if you can and be kind to yourself

I've done alright the last few weeks. Haven't felt particularly lonely or miserable, and I've managed to keep busy ish. But the loneliness really came back to bite this week.

I went to the building society yesterday to withdraw some money and make some changed to another account, so that was at least /someone/ to speak to, even if briefly. And my Dad telephoned because we are related and he feels compelled to.

And now I can't sleep because I've overdone it on the sleeping pills, and taking too much combined with drinking coffee doesn't really help with sleep.
