42m, life has nearly completely collapsed
I won't go into it.
I have a lot of kids with my wife. Its over 5. I won't say the number. Anyways, I have a career that makes about 175k plus health benefits (US).
Again, I won't go into the details. But she had me committed to an asylum one week and we got arrested the next. She was calling police to settle internal debates. It was nuts.
Anyways, the state took our kids into foster care and we expect to get them back soon. Except, the state is now shocked I filed for divorce. Shes going nuts.
I thankfully have my job for now. But, she nearly cost me my job with the arrest. I am struggling to get the charges dropped as quickly as possible. Its 100% BS and the result of her calling the police on me with some version of this lie: "my husband is having a mental breakdown!"
Anyways, they finally decided to arrest us both and settle it in court.
I am keeping quiet because it was alllllll over the news in my state for a few days. I had reporters at my house.
I went into hiding.I did three days in asylum, then three days in jail the next week. I'm calling my album "Two weeks, Two holes"
I have no friends left outside of work. Over the years she controlled me to the point where I only had her. My brothers saw the news and won't talk to me, same with my dad.
I am starting over completely but hopefully won't need a new job. I am moving into an apartment this week.
I'm sorry to hear that your brothers and dad are jumping to conclusions based on news reports.
To everyone: When you see news reports about people who aren't already major public figures, NEVER assume that the reports are accurate. They might be true, might be false, often partly true but wildly inaccurate.
News stories about people who aren't already public figures come to public attention only because of someone's agenda, and most reporters these days are operating under too much time pressure to check facts in detail. In particular, crime stories are often cop-a-ganda; sometimes the alleged crimes are real and described accurately, sometimes not.
Everyone, if/when you suddenly see an unflattering news story about a friend or relative, do NOT jump to conclusions one way or the other. Take a wait-and-see attitude, and do NOT abruptly abandon your friend or family member in their hour of need.
To stratozyck: I'm glad to hear you still have your job.

Thank you for your support.
Here is a weird thing about my job. About 6 weeks before the incident, I called 3 layers of management and said my wife was going crazy and refusing bipolar 1 medication. It wasn't a "oh this woman is crazy" type thing. It was a... look this is legit, shes nuts thing. Anyways they all felt embarassed to talk about a personal issue.
Anyways, so when she committed me to the asylum, guess what she did. Called TWO layers of management. She used me in there to call everyone on my contact list as she had my phone and knew the passcode. She thought I was cheating. Spoiler: I was not.
I told her afterwards I had already alerted THREE layers she was going to do that. I want to note: the two layers in question: they had met her before. I have known them collectively 15 years. I worked with both at other orgs in the past. I am in a good place for this. But still, yeah I am worried. They know she is crazy so I think I can mount a defense in the worst case.
Then we got arrested. I don't know who won that round.
