I desperately need someone to talk to, not so much specifically about my problems, though I do wish I could talk about them, but someone who could just listen to me talk. I used to have a therapist, but right now my family would consider me wanting one to be a weakness best solved through violence. (I never understood why, but that seems to be their solution whenever I have any kind of problem.) I also believe myself incapable of having friends, so that is also not an option. Does anyone know of some kind of website where you can pay to talk to a therapist through e-mail? That way, I can still talk to someone, and my family will not know.

I cannot recommend online therapy because I have no experience with it.
I do know there are coaches for folks with ADHD, and this is done online or over the phone.
I have also run across therapists who will do some sessions by phone, but I believe you still need at least the initial face-to-face meeting.

How would your family react to you attending a support group?
Some therapists/doctors start up groups like this and could have a sliding scale fee arrangement.
If you found one, you could just tell your family you met a group of people who share similar interests, and leave it at that.

It is good that you are seeking a means of support.

The problem as far as they are concerned lies not with seeing a therapist, but needing one at all. I am unable to drive myself anywhere, and they would not be willing to take me somewhere for that. Since they would be involved in getting me there, they would want to know details of exactly what I was doing.

The only solution I can see is online. Even that is a little risky, but it's gotten to the point where there is no other option.

Is there something specifically you want to talk about.
Im sorry i cant do it on msn, because i dont like people whining at me.
However, if you want to talk here that would be fine - at the very least it may provide some mirth.

While there aren't (to my knowledge...if you are, don't rip into me, etc) any qualified therapists here (or social workers, or similar), there are a lot of people that are willing to at the least listen.
